Bab 26: Chapter 26
Lightning flashed across the gloomy sky, brightening the room out of its darkness to reveal a restless boy lying in a bed. Kaveh was turning and groaning in his sleep. His worst nightmare swallowed him up.
In a dark stone wall room, the only light was the moonlight that glittered over a naked man. There wasn't much in the bedroom, an incubator holding a large egg and a bed where the man was tied up. His long red hair spread on a dark bedsheet. His pale, unhealthy skin indicated how long he was kept there without sunlight. His whole body was bruised and scarred.
Iron bars separated his bedroom from the space filled with incubators, strange machinery and a library filled with old books.
Kaveh saw all this like watching a movie. 'Damn... why am I here again? ' he heard a sound and looked at the door.
A young man in a white coat came downstairs. He turned the lights on, and the space brightened up. He joyfully rubbed his hands and walked through them to arrive in front of the bars. He attempted to open it but to no avail. He got angry and started cursing. Suddenly, a voice echoed in the whole basement.
"Oh, well, you were a spy, too?"
The young man's vision went upside down. The moment he came to his senses, An immense pressure paralysed his whole body.
" Ah, you silly boy, Did you think you had a shot at stealing my treasure? He is my branded mate. Even if you get your hands on him, you could never get him pregnant."
With that, he killed the young man in a swift move. He licked his bloody hands and narrowed down his eyes.
" What is the use of sending a lowlife wolf in here?"
He shrugged his shoulders and marched to the bedroom.
Kaveh felt his heart tighten as he saw the man. Ryu Azh Darhan, the only son of the Azh Empire, with his wavy black hair and grey eyes, was famous as Beau Diable. His black history was well-known, but it did not hinder his popularity. And worst of all, he was the psycho's son and the rapist.
Ryu was looking at the man on the bed sorrowfully.
"I'm sorry, I'm still not strong enough to fight my father.
All I can do is shield you from his enemies. If you wait a while, I'll get you and our kid out of here. Just one more time, trust me. Okay?"
He turned around to leave but looked one last time at the man, but he never answered. Ryu dejectedly left.
The man's eyes on the bed were blank.
The stage transformed into a rainy roof. Noah was wounded and had leaned over a longsword. Across from him, Psycho's corpse was on the floor.
On the corner, Ryu was on his knees, begging.
" Kaveh, please don't kill our unborn child. I am begging you. No matter how much you hate me, he's innocent."
He wanted to approach Kaveh, but with a slight movement, a handful of blood spat out.
" He is not my child. He is a monster like you and your father."
Kaveh heard his voice. He turned to see himself holding an egg. His face twisted by hatred, he said, sneering.
"You have all been foolish to believe that nonsense. What was the reason you put the heart of a dragon into someone? Offspring? Oh, boy, The female dragons did a number on you guys. Did you know that the solution was simply a marking? Males could mark any race as their breeder! They could get multiple partners! Those dragon women didn't tell you the truth. Even Your mother deceived you. Dragons only have one partner in their lives was a big fat Lie! You could have children only with your mate. What a joke!
Whose fault was it for all the suffering we went through? Just you dragons!!"
Ryu trembled, shaking his head. " No, it is not true!"
"Today, By killing this egg, I will annihilate this deceptive race for all!!"
Kaveh watched slowly while the egg fell off the roof and broke.
" Nooooo…"
He woke up in tears. He placed both hands on his face, wailing. ' I killed my child.' his cry echoed in an empty room.
Later, with a blank face, he looked outside. ' I hate this weather the most.'
The noise of rain pounding the windows reminded him of his dark memories. With each drop falling, he could hear the eggshell shattering.
His misery was started by his sale when he transferred to a research institute. Others had seen him as fortunate to have an opportunity to carry children for dragons. Even though he believed it was a curse, not a blessing living like that. It was all thanks to that guy, Ryu. He would have failed if he had not branded him as his mate. Their relationship was one of love and hatred.
His being meant something to Kaveh. He was the only one to treat him as a person, not a test subject. They became friends, and he fell in love with Ryu. Kaveh was happy not to be alone. But all good things must come to an end. Kaveh found out Ryu was that lunatic's son. He collapsed, but Ryu was still having sex with him, afraid of his father. With their intimacy, the mask of a gentleman broke. When it was over, Kaveh saw the truth. In all his time together, he whispered sweet words to him but never tried to free him. It was he who was stupid.
That's why he couldn't kill Ryu in the end. Noah was the one who finished him off, but the price was his life.
Now the missing puzzle of that mystery came to light. The wearing the mask was Noah's brother. In that incident, he probably figured out he could quickly kill Ryu. But he didn't aid Noah with that. 'So it was revenge for his brother. Ah, we both have one of those brother complexes. Has Edwin become his mate as my punishment? his retribution?'
Kaveh laughed sarcastically. His tears fell slowly onto the sheets.
He thought that in this life, he could have a good life free of pain and suffering, but he underestimated his crappy luck. All he was capable of doing was sitting here crying. He had no power or ability to confront the masked man or that psychopath. "It is pathetic".
When Noah's brother abducted Edwin today, his fear of being alone surfaced. However, he didn't utter a word of complaint to Noah. He owed them in his previous life big time by bringing them into that research institute.
It was his battle. He decided to gather wealth and influence and become stronger over time. He would emerge as the dominant Omega four years later as an adult. He should be ready by the time they come after him. There was still time.
