Thus, to distract him, she moved closer to him, completely blocking his view of the book as she plastered a smile on her face and said,

"I... I came here to look for the novels Princess Thalia said she'd given to you!" she said almost quickly, recalling that the princess had mentioned she'd brought her the novels she'd asked for that day, and Zane had taken them to the library. She began to slowly edge away from the direction where she'd dropped the book and made her way to the side Lucian had walked out of, and to her relief, he was following behind her.
