[Clear condition met. Dungeon cleared, calculating rewards]
.
[You are the first to clear this dungeon! You have Earned extra rewards]
.
[You cleared the dungeon alone! You have earned extra rewards]
"WHOA! These rewards are too good!"
. .
Outside the dungeon, expectant looks filled the faces of everyone present as the colours of the dungeon portal changed back to its normal shade of blue and a bit of green. The expectation was of course similar for everybody, in fact, it was more of a mystery why they were all waiting around. For every team that had entered this dungeon above the level of 25, none had come back out, so to expect a one-man army to make it out was a bit too much.
'Nothing?' Fars thought to himself standing at some space from the portal. He indeed heard the stories the guards had to tell of how quickly Ren always cleared the dungeon, and how he looked unscathed when he came out. It looked to be because of these tales that not only him, but everyone who was there remained, hoping that it would be similar this time.
'Even then, it hasn't even been that long… this is so stupid… this system needs to be reviewed soon.' Fars thought in his mind.
'What was I expecting? It's just one person after all.'
'Another failure.'
'What a stupid decision to make, heh…'
Different thoughts went through the minds of everyone present, some being vocal about it even.
Looking at the way things were going, Fars acted quickly to at least control the whole situation before it became anything more than it already was. He called a few people to take control of the scene and send all those that their presence wasn't needed there on their way so they could do some discussing before any other action took place.
"While they do that, get me-" Fars was in the middle of talking to a young man who faced him who was backing the dungeon portal when he noticed the expression on the young man's face changing and twisting into something he was quite familiar with for a different reason. Fars followed the young man's gaze that traced behind him towards the portal, and behold, what seemed to be the impossible was unfolding before his very eyes.
*step *step *step *step *step
Ren took gentle strides out of the dungeon while everyone watched in a daze as if they were looking at a ghost.
After a couple seconds, a deafening roar came from the crowd gathered and then they all rushed towards Ren.
'This was expected, but not to this extent.' Ren thought to himself.
Countless hands threw Ren up and when his body will fall back into their hands, they would launch him back into the air as they continued their celebratory screams. Even though this was going on and smiles filled the faces of everyone, the least happy, and visibly so, was Ren himself. As to why that was, well…
. .
"What's this?"
[You have cleared the 'Challenger's Stage' of this dungeon and will receive a special rewards befitting your accomplishment]
[After clearing the 'Challenger's Stage' you will no longer be able to access this dungeon]
'WHAAAAAAT!!!!!'
"THIS WAS THE CHALLENGER'S STAGE? FUCK!" Ren cursed vengefully as he felt the pain deep in his heart.
The challenger's stage did appear several times, but he had no idea this dungeon would have one, and now he could no longer access the dungeon because he had cleared it. The painful thing was that the reward given depended on the performance and difficulty of the dungeon at the time, which meant that being of higher level before raiding the dungeon would give better rewards. Now that he had rushed ahead to do the challenger's stage without even knowing, and at a lower level instead of the highest level, the rewards he would receive would definitely be less impressive than if he was to do it at the highest level.
'I feel so cheated.'
With such thoughts in mind, Ren didn't even bother going through his rewards and left the dungeon.
. .
'At least this is a good feeling, enjoying something like this once in a while isn't a bad idea.' Ren thought to himself.
Well, the celebration was short lived since Fars had to follow the regular procedure and drag Ren elsewhere for questioning and such formal proceedings.
Ren spent the rest of the day carrying out formal procedures and formalities until night came.
He spilled every information he had on the dungeon above level 25, and to say the least, everyone was pleased to learn of such crucial information. Hearing that it was a challenger's stage at the last levels was definitely an eye opener, it meant they would also have to train teams specifically for that before letting them in again. With this little adventure, Ren had opened up a lot of possibilities related to the dungeon of fallen warriors.
"Normally, I would have to ask you to reveal all the rewards you got from the dungeon as per normal procedure, but this time I'll make an exception. That aside, there's something else that intrigues me, and that is how you, a single person can clear a challenger's stage alone, not to mention, with that level of difficulty, it should be impossible." Fars was curious, and his curiosity was justified.
'Even a monster like General Othman could never have achieved such a feat back when he was of similar age, yet this boy did it.' To Fars, this was very interesting. He had his suspicions, but he had seen many geniuses, so instead of suspecting Ren of anything negative, Fars instead, had hope that another genius was about to be born!
Well, Ren was already born and grown now, isn't he…
"If you are curious, sir, why not come see for yourself how I did it?" this would sound like a tease under normal circumstances, but the expression on Ren's face and his body language was nothing of the sorts.
'This kid…'
"Is that so? Ok then, within seven days, choose a dungeon and we'll raid it, just the two of us. I'll be able to make good assessment then." Their discussion was straight forward and conscience. Ren saw himself out of the Vice Head's office after that and returned to his dorm.
After he left, the right hand man of the Vice Head had a different look on his face, perhaps, mirroring the thoughts in his mind.
"Sir, he isn't normal, even for geniuses, we should take caution and do more investigations, his past is too clean for someone with such power." Larson, stated his opinion.
"No, Larson, I don't think we need to do anything. My eyes don't lie…"
"Very true, sir."
"-and what I see is the cub of a ferocious beast… now, putting my vision aside, what is to be done to him is not up to us to decide. Need I warn you, not just General Othman has eyes on the boy, the other six star generals also do. Touch him, and that may as well be the start of trouble, for yourself." Even though Fars sounded casual while speaking like he always does, his words carried a lot of meaning behind them.
"I understand, sir. I won't speak of this again."
"Hmm. Now, prepare for what is to follow, I'm sure the General will be thrilled with this news."
