"Dany, Let's go!"
Dany stiffened at his words but nodded nonetheless, her heart thumped against her chest as she saw her brother stuff a chest into one of the two trunks.
He then lifted both of them and signaled to her, "Follow me, and don't make a noise."
Dany nodded her head; she too was barefoot like her brother as they made their way to the entrance.
"Aaahn!~"
Dany widened her eyes in horror when she heard the moans, 'Someone's still awake!"
Her heart drummed as she thought they were going to get caught, but Viserys, who noticed her halting steps, turned around with a frown.
"Dany!" he hissed as he nudged her to follow.
Dany didn't dare to say a word and walked slowly behind her brother.
Viserys knew where the stables were and went toward them.
There were around ten horses in the stables, and a rough middle-aged man lay drunkenly asleep on top of hay.
Dany could now hear her heartbeat. She clenched her fists tightly while praying to the gods that they escape quickly.
Viserys led her to the two best horses he could find among the horses and saddled them.
He tied the two horses with a rope and put the two trunks on one horse.
Dany watched with endless worry that someone might wake up as Viserys turned around.
He was about to ask Dany to come near when his eyes widened in surprise.
Behind him was the stableman, awake and looking at them both with confusion.
He wasn't that far away; Dany was three feet away from him, while the man was about two feet away from Dany.
Viserys glared at the man, his hand slowly inching toward the dagger at his waist.
The thirty-year-old man, half drunk, stumbled on his legs as he said, "W-Who—"
But Viserys didn't give the man a chance to speak.
He dashed toward the man, his hand drawing the dagger from his waist.
The man's eyes widened; he tried to dodge Viserys, but his drunken body couldn't move fast enough.
He watched in dread as the dagger pierced his neck, blood filling his mouth, the iron taste snapping him out of his drunkenness; but alas, it was too late.
The corners of his eyes moistened as his life flashed before him.
He tried to say something, but the only thing that came out was gargles and blood spilling from his mouth.
The last thing he saw was Viserys's cold, purple eyes glaring at him.
"You should have stayed asleep," Viserys muttered as he slowly put down the body.
He then turned toward Fany, who was now petrified with fear as she saw the dagger in the man's neck.
Viserys sighed; he didn't regret killing the man, but he regretted killing him in front of his sister.
'But now is not the time for that,' he mumbled inwardly as he walked over to her.
Dany's body was shivering as she saw blood. It was her first time seeing a man kill another, and it terrified her.
Viserys saw her eyes and knew he had to speak to her, but not now.
He lifted her in his arms and put her on the horse before he, too, mounted the horse.
"Dany, hold tight." He said before beckoning the two horses to run.
'The sun will rise in a couple of hours; we have to put as much distance as possible,' Viserys mumbled to himself as the horses rode off.
They rode through the silent streets of Pentos, but Viserys could hear the faint sounds of partying coming from a couple of streets away.
They were riding through the wealthy streets, which were known for partying very often.
He checked his pockets once again, feeling the sensation of weight in his pockets; he sighed, 'The sellswords would sure like to know where we are going.' He mused.
Dany was on the edge as they reached the outskirts of Pentos. It took them about half an hour to reach the city gates.
Her brother stopped once in the middle of the street and took two robes (towels) and covered their faces.
The gates were manned by two guards who were stirred awake from their slumber due to the galloping of the horses.
The guards frowned when they saw the two riders covering their faces with towels?
"Hey! Stop and show your faces!" one of them bellowed loudly.
Viserys stopped the horse; he didn't want the mercenaries to follow them. He stopped beside the guards, who were glaring at them.
"My good sers, why don't you go back to your peaceful sleep and we will continue on our way," Viserys said as he put a small bag full of coins in the guard's hand.
The guard frowned at Viserys but still weighed the small pouch. A wide grin bloomed on his face as the guard's eyes shone with greed, "Of course, My Lord." The guard said.
Viserys nodded at the guards and beckoned for the horses to move.
Dany turned around; her eyes caught a glimpse of the two guards sharing the money her brother had given them.
"Brother….did you have to kill that man?" Dany asked meekly, a little afraid to anger her brother. His expression when he killed the man scared her.
'I don't want to see him like that again…' she thought to herself as she leaned back into him.
Viserys looked down at his sister; he knew he scared her. "He saw us, Dany. He might wake up others; there is no other choice." He explained.
"But…" Dany was still scared; she pursed her lips as she clenched her jaw.
SIGH
Viserys sighed, 'She is too young to see blood, but she has to get used to it. This world will not be kind if she is too frail.'
Of course, Viserys would not let someone harm his sister, but still, it is better to prepare her than to be a garden flower.
