Bab 51: Little Boy, You See That?

Timing his steps to the beat of his heart, Noah arrived at the pearl curtain. He used a hand to part it and saw two men dragging the poor man from earlier. Blood smeared on the floor, letting Noah know that the man was either severely injured or plain dead.

His eyes then crawled to the side where the lounge paved bigger than it looked from outside. Guards were standing around the couch where a middle-aged man was seated.

He had salt and pepper hair while sporting a white sleek mustache. He was wearing a pair of white suit and pants, but specks of blood were on his shirt.

With his hand gestures, he called for Noah. When the latter walked in, the guards eyed at him as if they were machine scanners looking for guns. One even went behind Noah and patted him down for anything, which seemed unnecessary with the way he wore his clothes.

"Come here, sit down. Don't be scared." The target smiled and patted his lap.

Noah had no choice but to do as he said. Even if looked a little weird as he was a tall man, he still sat on the lap of the target.

Based on what he remembered, this man was called Stephen Porter. Only a few were known about him, but he was undeniably a witch tech broker. Seeing the man earlier told Noah that this man was engaged in more businesses than that.

Stephen then used a hand to rub Noah's waist. "You smell so nice. I heard you're new. What brought you here, hm? Who knows? Maybe I can help you, sweetheart."

"My auntie, who had taken care of me since young, is sick. I need money to convince her to go see a doctor." Noah eyed at the hand and didn't even meet the gaze of the middle-aged man.

"Oh, that's sad. Tell me, sweetheart, what do you want to do for fun, hm?"

"I… I cook and play games."

"Oh, you like playing games?" Stephen smiled like a creep, and Noah only flashed a forced smile. His eyes just kept on glancing at the hand at his waist before gazing at his own lap.

Before Stephen could say something again, another man walked in the lounge. He only eyed the direction of Noah and Stephen, the server looking away after instinctively gazing at the newcomer. The newcomer then cleared his throat. "Port, do you mind?"

Stephen was visibly mad and pushed Noah off of him. The server fell on the floor, but he only remained to stay there as if hiding behind the center table.

The middle man leaned back and huffed. "What now? Don't tell me you still can't contact Connor?"

"I tried. However, it seemed like he's on comatose." The man then eyed the guards. "I don't know what happened to his guard, but his family didn't bother talking to me. Moreover, Schuler isn't picking up. He was supposed to meet Connor that night."

"Bullshit. He probably got killed because he was so arrogant. Connor's no use in a coma. Get someone to kill him now if you ask me." Stephen snorted before he eyed at Noah who was obediently sitting on the floor.

He then looked at the newcomer as well. "Let's discuss more in the usual place."

When he heard 'usual place', the newcomer's eyes glistened differently. He then looked at the man on the floor before smiling. He soon moved to leave.

Stephen then turned to Noah. "Baby, are you hurt?"

"I'm okay." Noah slowly got to his feet, but Stephen grabbed him by the hair and pulled him to his groin. This kind of treatment was slowly breaching the conditions he signed up for, but he knew he shouldn't complain about it for now.

Maybe later… when he's free to kill this target.

"Don't be shy, I know you are. How about I give you some secret medicine, huh?" Stephen grinned, and Noah already knew what was about to happen.

However, Noah spotted someone was moving in the background and a strange glint in that newcomer's eyes. Noah then sought a hidden image in the shadows as if asking Caliga to be on standby.

The server then pulled back, prying the hand off of his hair. "Wait, wait, I decline!"

"Decline? You think you can decline me?!" Stephen suddenly got mad. He then used a leg to kick Noah's face to make him stop fighting. "You want to feel my wrath?!"

"Please! Please let me go!" Noah spoke in a begging voice, but he was managing to catch the kick delivered to his face.

It's just that one guard came behind him and held him on a headlock. Stephen released his hair and snatched a bottle from the hands of another guard. When the guard brought Noah to lie on the ground, Stephen squatted next to them and shook the bottle in front of the server.

"Do you know what this is, little boy, huh? Huh?! Do you know?!" The man aggressively popped the cap open and ordered two more men to help the other guard. "Open his mouth!"

"Help! Help me! He—!" Noah only kept up with the acting. When the thing was poured inside his mouth, his eye twitched at its awful taste. One man then covered his mouth and kept it shut until Noah could ingest some of it. He was then released after a few seconds.

Noah rolled to his stomach and started coughing out the contents. It had begun to taste very bitter and spicy that his throat burned. This taste… it should be those odorless sleeping drugs sold in the black market.

"Get ready to pack up," Stephen spoke to his men and instructed them to prepare for their leave. He then turned to the young man coughing violently on the floor. Stephen stomped at his back and grabbed two bundles of cold, hard cash from a bag on the table. He then threw it on the ground.

"Little boy, you see that? That's how you know your worth. All I have to do is pay, and they'd pretend you were never here." He spat at the side. "You should have said goodbye to your auntie."

Noah only lifted his gaze and looked past the cash on the floor. He could see Caliga shaking in rage. However, the dog had to be patient.

Caliga would have his turn; Noah said he could rip this bastard into pieces later. He just needed to make sure the plan would go smoothly.

The server soon passed out, and he was carried and fitted into a big bag by one of the guards like a dead body.

Luca's eyes drilled a hole into the pearl curtain as he never saw Noah come out when the thugs did. With that strange big bag they rolled out of the place, Luca knew they were about to take Noah somewhere far.

Actually, when he realized that Noah would be doing something very risky, he decided to pack his guns and sneak inside the club. A few thick wads of green bills was enough for the bouncer to let him inside and even had a manager sit him on a VIP table away from the sight of the lounge.

Right now, he was still pretending to drink with two ladies sitting on either side.

Stephen Porter just left, and it would be weird for him to leave around the same time. He had to begrudgingly stay for a few more minutes like he wanted to. Soon, he only looked down at his table filled with three empty glasses.

"Honey, what's with the knitted brows? Don't you like the drinks we picked for you?" One woman cooed at him and hugged his arm like he cared about them. Actually, he didn't request for anyone; the manager just sent two girls to appease some baller.

"Don't touch me." Luca didn't spare a glance at the woman. He then closed his eyes before turning to the seemingly offended woman. "Sorry, I mean… I don't… not women…"

"Gosh, you should have said so earlier…" The woman pouted as she informed the other woman. They got off of the couch and left Luca to his drinks. Instead of just leaving, they would have to complain to their manager, too.

It's just that when they left, someone walked in a tray at hand. He sat down while eyeing the girls who pouted like their customer was stolen. Carlos then sat next to Luca and placed a new glass in front of him, collecting the ones he emptied and the one on his hand.

"My, my, those girls couldn't tell a good drink from a bad one, don't they? Can't even get a hint when you've been eyeing our little new birdie." Carlos chuckled and waited for Luca to look at him. "Sir, you have very beautiful eyes. What do you want them to gaze at, hm?"

"That guy over there earlier, why did he go to the lounge? Those guys, too? Who are they?" Luca snorted as he leaned back, acting like a haughty young master. "What do I have to be to get a lounge of my own? He can even bring tons of other people inside."

"Uhm…" Carlos could answer some questions, but he couldn't do so for all. He only kept his endearing smile and leaned on his side next to Luca.

"Well, you have to donate lots and lots to our club. I believe only the major stockholders can have a lounge for their own. Unless you're that guy… the boss's friends are the most favored ones.

"But sir, if you like, you can rent a room upstairs… you can also rent as many others as you want…"

"Is tipping allowed in here?"

"Tipping? Of course."

Luca grabbed the drink on the table and drank it in one gulp. He then took out whatever's left of the wads of money he had gotten to bribe the people in the club and placed it next to Carlos. "Take the money and leave this life. You don't deserve it."

The hunter then left the sitting area and quickly disappeared into the dark corridors.

Carlos couldn't even begin to think of a way to hide the money he just received. He only murmured, "Is that an angel freeing me from Hell?"
