Bab 83: 83 Exchange Hall
Ryan didn't stay seated for long, he had looked up how to buy spells on skynet and made his way to the Exchange Hall.
The Exchange Hall is where you go use your merit points to buy things or sell things. He was planning on checking how much merit points he could get for the fruit and find out what they are exactly. He have 14 of them in total and it would be nice if they were rare and expensive.
Ryan made it to the front of the Exchange Hall and there was a old man sitting in a chair with his hands behind his head, leaning back, and has his face literally in a book. It had looked like he could be sleeping, but he sure he wasn't. Ryan could feel something monitoring him as he approached, but he wasn't worried about it.
He made sure to always keep his core active 24/7 so people could sense his rank1 mana core. Ryan has been using it as a way to train since he got here. He decided to make himself 10 times heavier consistently, like he had used to do in the forest.
Ryan didn't spend much time inspecting the old man, he just had walked passed him and ignored the monitoring feeling.
When Ryan made it into the building, it was a large open space with not much decoration. There was a few paintings of beasts getting killed by people and a few plants inside vases around.
Their were a few people having there hand on a memory stone that was on a waist high stand. There was many stands like that lined up along the wall, he could make a guess what they are used for.
On the farther back wall Ryan could see a older woman sitting behind a see through formation handing someone something. The formation was making it hard for Ryan to see what is happening near the older woman.
Ryan just had assumed it was for people privacy when buying things. He stop watching to make his way to one of the Memory stone and put his hand on it like he saw other people doing.
An image had pop up in his head with words saying tap your skynet on it first. So Ryan tap his skynet and used the memory stone again and this time categories of things pop up.

Normal weapons,
Martial arts skills,
Martial art technique,
Spells,
Formation,
Alchemy pills/ potions,
Cultivation resources,
Herbs,
Ryan was curious to check through all the categories but decided to do it some other time. He focused on the spell category and another image appeared in his head.
Spells,
Gesticulate spells,
Ryan focused on spells again and another image pop up, it had a list of elements.
Fire,
Water,
Wind,
Earth,
Ice,
Lightning,
Light,
Shadow,
Sound,
Space,
And a few more. At the end of the list was a category named Other Variations. Ryan couldn't stop his curiosity and focused on the category that is name Other Variations. He saw an image with names of spells but it wasn't many.
Lava ball,
Ice armor,
Shadow walk,
Sink hole,
And a few others. Ryan didn't understand why these spells was in a category under Other Variations so he focused on lava ball and a brief description pop up.
Throw a sticky destructive ball of lava at your opponent. If it hit a barrier or person, it will stick to them and cause damage over time.
Ryan focused on the spell Sink Hole. Loosen up the earth and cause your opponent to sink down into the ground. Than reharden it to trap your opponent.
He read a few other spells and it didn't actually help him at all in understanding why it was in this category.
He decided to look it up on skynet and it gave him a brief description.
Other Variations is a category for people with mutated cores that have mutated elements. Fire is known to be destructive but the fire element could heal people to if it mutate. Normally destructive fire spells won't be as effective with that type of mutated fire element.
After reading the brief description Ryan understood to a certain extent what Other Variations are. Now that he thought about it, his lightning element should be classified as a Other Variation.
Ryan went back into the exchange memory stone and looked at lightning spells. There wasn't to many and only now Ryan realized why he had to tap his skynet first. It must only show him things for his rank and talent grade.
He already knows he wanted a defensive spell and had seen only 3.
Lightning Barrier, which is just a wall of lightning that damage people if they come in contact.
It didn't seem like it would be a good spell for blocking attacks, Ryan was worried about people lunching an attack spell at him.
The next spell was Lightning Skin. It was pretty much like the pervious one but weaker. He had assumed it would cost less mana to use that why people would had chosen to use it over the other one.
The last spell was Lightning Discharge. Store up lightning and discharge it to stop your opponent from getting close.
Ryan didn't like that spell either and only now Ryan realized his lightning element may not be a good defensive element.
He didn't care to much about not finding a good spell because the cheapest spell he saw was 700 merit points. He couldn't buy a spell even if he had wanted to.
Ryan had already figured that he will have to buy a spell with his mana stone in the city. He just hope he could find a decent defensive spell for less than 300 mana stones. He still need some of his mana stones to rank up to rank 2.
He use around 7 or 8 mana stone per day if he mainly only cultivate. If he sacrifice some of his sleep he may could do 10 mana stones a day. Ryan assumed at the rate he going at he will need 400 to 500 mana stones to rank up.
Ryan decided to try to exchange the fruit he had found to see how much merit points he could get and what the fruit Is used for.
