Bab 69: 69 Elizabeth Spar
When Elizabeth made it on the stage she pointed at the academy student she wanted to fight. He was a wind element user with a speed base fighting style.
"Wh-, Why she pick someone that is fast too, he a rank3 wouldn't that make it harder for her to pass." Brian whispered nervously to Ryan.
"Remember, the spar is not about winning. Its about proving why you are better than the average person. She probably have her reason for picking h..." Ryan paused in the middle of talking to Brian when he heard Elizabeth voice.
"I am a lightning element user. The reason I believe I could be one of the best is because my element aura allows me to fight above my ranks." Elizabeth said with no arrogance in her tone.
"Ah, she smart. Unlike other people she left out exactly what her element does." One of the academy judges said when he heard her.
They haven't been paying any special attention to her, but they been keeping track of what everyone said for each spar.
"Show me what you got." The academy student replied back with a hint of courtesy in his tone.
Elizabeth knew her chances of winning was low either way so she moved at 100% of her ability. She wasn't worried about conservering her mana. She rather fight for 1 minute at her best, than 10 minutes and only showing average abilities.
She pulled out both swords and crouch low to the ground. She performed her movement martial art technique, which is at the beginners level still like all her other martial arts skills. With her aura overcharging her body she darted towards her opponent like a bullet.
When she got close enough she raised both her swords up.
The increase in her speed made the swords downwards chop more powerful.
Her opponent has the wind element and he could use his element to move faster. He used the wind to speed up the swings of his sword to meet the chop.
Clang.
A loud sound of the swords colliding was heard.
Right after the chop, she swung her dual swords at her opponent rapidly, and skillfully. Every swing was accurately performed, and any mistakes on the opponent's side would cause him to lose a limb.
Clang,
Clank,
Clank,
Clang,
He was even starting to get a little nervous as he realized how skilled she was. Normally when people move faster there attacks would become less accurate or become more straight forward. But she have such a high control over her sword and the ability to still perform faints at this speed. It make it hard for anyone to keep up.
With her brain and muscles being overcharged, she is able to preformed her sword play to the best of her skills. She is capable of processing information faster, which make a big difference.
The only reason why her opponent is keeping up with her is because of his wind element. As she swings through the air he can sense the wind getting move and can predict to a certain extent of what way she will swing.
In just over 30 seconds they already exchanged over 70 strikes. It shouldn't even be called exchanging her opponent only blocked the whole time. The reason he only blocked was not because he wasn't trying to counter, but he simply couldn't counter her. Her strikes was to fast, any error in his part would of cost him to lose the spar.
She jumped back to create space for a brief moment. Her opponent thought he finally had a moment to catch his breath but she was already charging back at him.
She attacked with the same 2 swords downwards chop like the first time. Her opponent planned on blocking in the same way by meeting the sword in mid air to block.
Clang,
Sling,
The sound of the swords colliding was not as loud this time and there was another unique sound was heard by everyone. The sound of a sword sliding across another sword.
As everyone looked at the 2 standing still, blood started gushing out the academy student leg and he was forced to kneel down. His leg was barely hanging on.
The other kids watching the spar was in disbelief that she won so fast. They all had made a mental note of her, to not make enemies with her.
It caught the judges by surprise too. It wasn't the first time the student had taken damage by his opponent today but it was the first time it was this bad. She was the first to actually had beaten the student out right.
There was other kids that passed and probably would of won the fight if they kept sparring. But the academy student always said they passed before they actually get a chance to lose.
"She is pretty good for her age and I don't think she come from a big background. I wouldn't mind her joining our academy." One of the judges said.
"It was clever of her to used the chopping move so blatantly at the beginning of the spar to lessen his guard. When she did the same blatant chopping charge, her opponent subconsciously thought it will be the same as the last. But she only let one sword commit to the chop while the other sword slid down towards her opponent leg." Another judge said
"The attack is not that effective, the student have some blame to why it succeeded. He should of kept a look out for something like that, he could of easily dodge it if he was paying attention." The city lord representative pointed out.
All the judges casually agreed with him knowing he will never just say anything positive about the students or the kids taking the exam.
Even though the academy student felt slight embarrassment to lose like this against a young girl, he didn't hold a grudge. He congratulated her on passing this part of the exam and limped off the stage to get healed.
Elizabeth didn't show to much emotion, she just had a light smile as she walked off the stage. She didn't really expect to be able to beat the person but she was happy that she did.
Ryan and Brian was shocked how fast she won. It haven't even took a minute. Before they even had time to digest everything it was Brian turn to go up next. He collected himself knowing its time to do his best. He can't let his little sister out do him.
