After Ryan had won, it didn't cause much commotion. Not many people care about the rank 1 novices fighting each other, when there are 4 other stages with better fights going on. The part of the audience that was watching did become curious about Ryan element, but all they did was make a mental note to keep an eye on him.
Ryan made his way back under the stage while the person that lost the fight watch Ryan with fear still in his eyes. The feeling of being powerless against someone, will always be a hard feeling to forget.
When he had enter back in the room to wait for his matches, many eyes was looking at him differently. Ryan paid no attention to them and sat back down to watch the rest of the fights.
The next Rounds of fights started 15 minutes later and Brian came from beneath the stage. He did the oath, and went on stage waiting for the match to start.
Brian was up against a woman that have a sword at her waist, her number was 291. She had a unique presence around her, most people would be able to tell she is highly proficient in swords just by the way she holds herself. Her appearance wasn't much to look at but she did have decent curves and look like she was not to much older than Brian.
"FIGHT!" The announcer yelled was heard, and the woman slowly pulled her sword from the sheeth.
Brian had his long sword on his back, and drew his long sword with a sullen look. He could tell he won't be having an easy match.
The woman made a move first and swung her sword quickly at Brian, even though they was still far apart.
Swoosh
The sound of something could be heard moving through the air towards Brian. Brian wasn't stupid to not be able to understand what is happening seeing her actions and hearing something coming at him. He just side step the attack, it wasn't to hard to see it coming.
Brian look back at the woman with a skeptical look, to say did you really think that attack will do anything. As he looking at her, he see a smirk forming on her face.
Swoosh, swoosh,
Swoosh, swoosh,
Swoosh, swoosh,
The woman started swinging her sword in many different angles and each swing produced air blades that was aimed at Brian.
Brian face turn dark and ran left out the way of her strikes.
Swoosh, swoosh,
Swoosh, swoosh
Swoosh, swoosh,
She didn't stop her swings and the blades of air followed him. To his surprise as he was running left at an angle to slowly close the gap, a wind blade came right into his running path.
He was shocked to find out she could make her wind blades curved too. Brian had no choice but to block the blade in his path but that had slowed him down letting the other wind blades that was trailing him catch up.
He was fast enough to block the first blade and reposition himself to block the other incoming blades.
Only now did he realize the true horror of her blades. She had slash her blades out in different angles so he would be forced to reposition his sword a certain way to block each one differently. That actually wouldn't be that hard to do if they was clear to see, but when she send blades one after another behind each other it get harder to tell which angle the first blade is at.
Its as if you are trying to look at something far away and the thing you looking at is the exact color of its background.
It didn't take long before Brian to make a mistake at blocking, and start taking damage.
Swoosh, swoosh,
Swoosh, swoosh,
Swoosh, swoosh,
Once he took damage it had caused him to make even more mistakes, which in turn caused more damage. It was like a never ending cycle.
She haven't stopped swinging her sword since she started, not giving Brian a moment of breather to change the situation. He had to suck up his pride, and surrender before he takes to much damage.
Brian really felt really indignant about this lost, he didn't even get a chance to display his skills. Elizabeth that was watching the fight just clenched her fist and narrowed her eyes at the woman who won.
Ryan didn't have much of an reaction, he just felt like Brian had bad luck to face her on his first match. He didn't have any long range attack, but his earth spikes. He still would of have to had been closer than he was to even use it, he was already at a disadvantage when the match started.
Tom has the same thoughts like Ryan about Brian fight.
All the matches had ended, and the next Rounds of fights continued. All the fighters on each stage had fought once before the second phase of fights started.
The betting pool went up only a little on the rank1 fights sadly, so Ryan still chose not to bet on himself yet.
This is part of the reason why ryan trying to act more arrogant on stage. He wanted more people to have interest in him so when he challenged a rank 2 fighter more people will place bets on the fight.
Some people like to see the arrogant guy get put in his place and the odds will rise. That will give him the chances to make extra mana stones. Tom had already explained to Ryan how the betting works and they came up with this plan.
If he were to place a bet on himself now he would need to place a minimum of 15 mana stones as a bet, and he would only win 1 extra mana stone.
Time pass until Elizabeth number got called on stage again. Her and her opponent just walked to the stage instead of the oath stone since they already took the oath.
Her opponent was an guy that could use the light element and turns invisible. His number is 223 and his last match was an easy win for him. It's not just himself he could turn invisible, he could turn his weapons invisible too. He won by making his throwing knives invisible.
Elizabeth had watched his fight so she was prepared for it. She pulled out one sword and got in her fighting stance. Many people cheering her on, its not everyday they see a young girl fighting in this dangerous arena.
"FIGHT!" The announcer yelled.
Knowing that the guy could turn invisible she rushed him. He did exactly what she had expected and turned invisible. She ran circles around the area he was at, and spam her spell lighting arrow at the ground.
More and more dust had covered the stage and she noticed something moving in the dust. She kept shooting her lighting arrow at the moving figure in the dust but he kept dodging her attacks.
Even though her strategy made him visible but now she have the problem with her mana depleting at a fast rate. Her options are very limited, she can't afford to stop moving, or she may get hit with a throwing knife. The guy throwing knives are specially made, and don't make sound as they traveled through the air.
It's dangerous to get close, because if she miss her sword swing at close range, she may not see the counter attack coming.
The only thing she could think of that might work is what she had learned over the week training. It might be able to create a chance for her strike to connect.
With half her mana already depleted and it only been 2 minutes, she was forced to take a risk. She cast her lighting arrow yet again and charged towards the vague outline of the figure.
The guy seeing this was prepared to take this chance to get an attack on her. The lighting arrow was shot out towards the guy but it exploded in mid-air without hitting anything. The small lightning explosion caused very little damage to the guy but the attack wasn't supposed to hurt him.
She had used the explosion like an diversion, and brought her speed to her limit to travel to the side of the guy while swinging her sword.
The guy may of lost track of her visually but he could sense everything that move in a certain radius around him. People have to travel through light and he can sense that. Knowing she was coming from the side he cast his light shield spell to protect himself since he didn't have time to dodge. He made a mental plan for his counter attack once she attack.
She had already figured it wouldn't be that easy and wasn't surprised to see the shield. She had already guessed he could track her, he was able to dodge every arrow strike while his vision was being obstructed by the dust.
Her plan was to take a book out of that sword wind girl. She pulled out her other sword and repeatedly struck as fast as she could at the guy. Her plan was to not give the guy any space to make any counter attacks.
The guy in the shield was surprise and panic at the speed of her strikes, striking his light shield. With her dual sword techniques her strikes was faster than most.
He was left with no choice but to cast his light shield spell again.
Sadly for him she was able to cause more damage faster than he could create shields. Her strikes made it through and she couldn't really control her strikes, when his shield randomly broke and she cut off his arm.
The guy didn't have a weapon in his hand because it would become harder to keep himself invisible while moving if he had to cover the weapon too.
The guy was quick to yell he surrender once he lost an arm. Elizabeth had won her second fight, but it was a closer fight than she would had liked it, she only have 25% of her mana left.
She went back under the stage and the rooms under the stage is not only ment for watching the fights. There is a formation that helps you recover your mana faster in the room.
