Bab 43: 43 Meeting people
Ryan started his journey and walked towards the landscape stretched in deserted stillness. The eerie quiet settled over the landscape, creating an unsettling emptiness.
Only the sounds of his steps and the occasional roars in the distance to keep him company. The stillness in the surroundings held an eerie silence as if nature was holding its breath.
There were no normal scents one would expect to smell, just a very antiseptic scent in the air. No smell from the surrounding trees, or the the plants and flowers that's scattered in the area.
Ryan decided to start running and use his element to make himself heavier, in hopes to find other people faster. he finds the surrounding to disturbing to stay in.
He ran under the hot sun as hours turned into days, days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months.
Over the 2 months he spent traveling, not much even happened. Beasts was spread out, so he had to always go out his way to hunt. There was signs of buildings being at some locations but you can tell that was long ago. Everyday running seem the same as the last day, a part of him miss the lively forest.
But Luckily his torment is over from noticing a young boy around his age, carrying a girl in his arms. They were running right across Ryan line of sight.
Ryan never thought he be happy to see people running for there life, at least that is what its look like from here. He wasted no time to run towards them and yelled "hey" when he got close enough.
(Ah, I forgot to check how I look. Hopefully they will stop and don't think I'm trying to attack them or something.)
The boy noticed Ryan but he didn't slow down right away.
Ryan sighed to himself seeing this.
(I will come off like a bad guy if I still chase them, but I need information though. Letting them go is not an option, who knows when the next chance i will get.)
To Ryan surprise the boy slow down on his own just as Ryan made up his mind to not stop chasing.
A few moments later, Ryan made it to the kids but kept an appropriate distance apart.
"Why are yall running." Ryan asked since it will be important to know if they have the time to chat.
The boy didn't say anything right away, but he eventually responded. "What do you want? Are you lost or something?"
(Since he didn't answer my question, i guess it must not be important.)
"Yes, I am. How did you know and I was going to ask how to get back to the city." Ryan said with hope in his tone.
The boy looked at Ryan up and down with his eyes. He looked like he was hesitant to say something but a moment later you can see the resolve in his eyes.
"I guess you was lost from how you look. No shoes, you can barely call them pants and its easy to tell you made the armor your self. Plus your hair, face and"
"Okay, I understand." Ryan said interrupting him. He knows it true but it felt uncomfortable to have a person stand there and tell you how bad you look.
"Alright, and if u want to find a way to the city you will need my dad help. Can you fight? I'm guessing from what you wearing you can't be that bad, but I can't sense a mana core in you." The boy said with a confused tone.
"Yeah, I can fight. Why?" Ryan asked looking curious.
"If you want directions, you have to go help my dad. He is fighting off beasts right now, there are to many." The boy said in a worry tone. You could tell he is scared to hear Ryan say he can't help.
"If there are alot, will he still be alive?"
"Hurry and find out, he is not that weak, so he shouldn't die to fast. Go that way over the hill, you will see a brick house. It will be hard to miss."
Ryan didnt waste anymore time, this is his chance to fine his way back to the city. Ryan ran as fast as he could while using floating steps.
(It seem like that kid had a attitude with me or am I mistaken. It had been a while since I talk to a person.)
The boy seeing Ryan running that fast figure Ryan might actually be helpful. He ran the same direction Ryan did.
Ryan made it to the house in 5 minutes. Seeing the dead beasts scattered on the ground, he was slightly surprised. But he noticed a bloody men having trouble with the last 3 beast.
Ryan came running in and pulled out his sword. The man noticed Ryan coming but he didn't say anything and kept doing his best to hold off the beast.
Ryan didnt have a set target yet, it depends on who doesn't notice him. Just as Ryan made it 10ft away, the bear looking beast turned around and roar.
Ryan eyes constricted, when he found out its a rank 3. He didn't stop running though, he see an opportunity to catch the wolf beast off guard. Ryan jumped in the air, not knowing if the other 2 beast rank 3.
The wolf eventually turned around but he didn't see Ryan because Ryan was right over him.
Ryan threw his sword at the body of the wolf. The head shot seem hard to get, so he aimed for the heart.
"SWORD OF SUPPRESSION."
Ryan made sure to say it after the move is about to hit. He had learn saying it before will give the beast time to dodge.
The sword penetrated the beast, all the way to the hilt of the sword. The men seeing the other beast distracted stab the beast in the eye.
Ryan had already pulled out a beast corpse, seeing the man stab the beast in the eye. Than position the corpse right to jump off towards the beast with the eye injury.
He made himself 20 times lighter than jumped downwards towards the beast. Ryan pulled out his sword and aimed at its neck.
"MOUNTAIN SLASH."
BOOM!!
Ryan chopped off the other beast head and had a rough landing. He haven't figured out how to deal with all the extra momentum yet.
The man seeing that was surprise but he was to experienced to get distracted. He cast a spell called Earth spikes catching the bear by surprise. The bear was focused on Ryan the whole time.
The spikes penetrated its legs and neck. The men got on one knee from mana exhaustion.
"Kid hurry up and finish off the last 2 beast, im out of mana." The man said in a exhausted tone.
"Okay." Ryan got up and preform mountain slash on the last 2 beast.
"Thanks. I would of died without you." The man said with a grateful expression
"You should thank your son, he told me you needed help." Ryan said as he look towards the hill to see that boy running back with the girl in his arms.
"What's your name?" Said the men.
"Ryan. you?"
"My friends call me Tom."
"What happened here? why are there so many beasts ?" Ryan asked in a curious tone.
"It was a beast herd recently and these was part of the left over." Tom said in a complicated tone.
By now, the kids made it to them.
"Are you okay dad." Seeing his injuries, he can't help but worry.
"Yeah I'm fine brian, thanks to you." Rubbing his head with a soft smile.
"Is she okay." Ryan ask while pointing at the girl.
"Yeah she is fine. Brian go put her in her room and clean up out here. Lets treat Ryan to dinner."
"You look pretty injured, don't you need time to rest? Ryan said looking skeptical.
"Hahaa, yeah, I'm sorry about that, I had forgot. Ima bandage myself up, give me some time." Tom said as he walked off still chuckling
(Humm, he forgot he was injured?)
Ryan didn't spend time thinking about it and started to help clean the area in the mean time.
