Bab 13: Chapter 12: I Can't Transform?

After graduation day, Akira's day as an instructor was over, and he returned to his rank as Private First Class. Now, he leads his cadet team to patrol on top of the wall. He did guide tasks before he returned to the Scout Regiment.
Akira smiled at his team as he showed Erin, Connie, Thomas, Mina, and Sasha.....? talk about her; where was she?
"Hey." Akira and the others turn toward the voice as they see Sasha with a lustful smile with meat in her hand.
Akira, in an instant facepalm, as he sees her.
"Where were you? And why do you have that meat in your hand? You know this is not time for lunch yet." Akira said to Sasha as he rubbed his forehead.
"Well, I got this from the officer when he left the post."
"What! They left that food that much!?" Connie replied to Sasha.
Erin pets Akira's shoulder to calm him down.
"Hey, light up a bit; you, not our instructor, no more, we are your comrade," Erin said with a smile as Akira had a slight smile on his face.
"But still, I'm your leader here." Akira reply.
"Whatever you said," Erin said with a smile as she looked at the town. "This is it, right?" Everyone looks at Erin. "We gonna protect Humanity and lead it to victory."
Everyone smiled at her words as Akira interfered. "Well, chop-chop, the canon is not gonna service itself; back to work, guys."
Akira looked at his other cadet squad, Thomas and Mina. "You two are so quiet from the start. Is something wrong?"
"N-No, It just nervos that all." Mina replies as Thomas nods.
"Don't be silly, you two, we're all your comrades, same with Akira here," Erin said to them as she held Mina's shoulder with a smile on her face.
Everyone has a smile on their face.
Suddenly, Akira felt enormous energy Ki appear behind him; when he turned his head, he saw a Skinless, 60-meter Titan standing right behind the wall.
Everyone is shocked at this, and before Akira can move, The 60-meter Titan swings his leg toward the gate and destroys it while Akira's team flies away from the Titan and hangs to the wall.
"T-The Gate a-are destroyed!" Connie exclaimed as they all saw Erin fly toward the Titan.
"I WILL KILL YOU, TITAN!" Erin shouts as she fires wire at Titan's neck and aims to strike. But what she didn't see was that Titan's hands were about to swipe her off.
"ERIN, WATCH OUT!" Sasha yelled to Erin in slow motion. Erin turned her head and saw Giant's hand just about to slap her out of the way.
Erin closed her eyes as suddenly she felt someone hold her arm. Erin opened her eyes and saw Akira grab her arm; he spun her and threw her toward his team while he shouted.
"RUN, ERIN!" As Erin is out of the way, Akira gets hit by the Giant hand. Akira coughed with blood and flew far outside the wall.
Erin and the other, eyes wide open, saw Akira crash into the forest far from them. Connie managed to catch Erin and fly away from that Titan, but when they moved out, the Titan disappeared and left a smoke.
Erin snapped back from the shock as she yelled at Connie. "CONNIE, LET ME GO! WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO AKIRA!"
"No! We can't do that right now! Akira is on the other side! More clearly, Titan SIDE! I'm sorry, Erin, but all we can do now is regroup with the others..." Connie said in a sad tone in his voice.
"At least you can let me go..." Erin replies as Connie and the others stop on top of the roof. Conny let Erin down, but as Erin was down to her feet, she was about to run where Akira was but stopped when Sasha held her hand tightly.
Erin turned and saw Sasha with teary eyes as she said to Erin. "I know you care for Akira, same as I do, or even more, but when you go out there! You gonna waste the life of Akira safe! And That is you!"
"I believe Akira is still out there; he is strong, remember, he is stronger than all of us, and I'm sure he is still alive and well back to us just in time." Mina is the one who voices it this time. She is also in tears.
"You hear what she said? If Akira doesn't get back to us, then we will find him!" Connie said to Erin as the other nodded. Erin grips her sword tight as she nods; Sasha lets go of her arm, and the others continue their way back to the others.

Far away from them, we can see a crash site, and Akira is getting up there with a log on top of his body as he pushes it out with effort. The log crashes beside him as he slowly gets up. His body has been cut, bleeding, and some broken ribs.
"That... Ki... Bertholdt?" Akira slowly stands as he uses a tree log as his support.
"So that you call bitch slap, huh?" Akira said to himself as he pulled his glove out of his left hand and revealed a Dragon Diamond mark on his left hand. Akira took a deep breath, which caused pain in his ribs. "Time to save the people from Titans..." Akira still felt the pain in his body. "Henshin..." Akira snaps his finger as the mark glows brightly, the same with his body.
His body grew to 17 meters, and he relived his Ultraform.
His colour timer is beeping; it shows that he doesn't have much energy left because of the injury he got from the slap.
"I... must move as fast as I can... Before this form disappears..." Akira is in his Ultraform, clutching his ribs as he slowly walks and soon runs back into the walls, but before 20 more meters away, Akira Ultraform's body starts to glow brightly and disappears.
Akira drops down to his knees and coughs some blood. Akira's vision was blurry; he saw Titan enter the hole and heard screaming and flesh-tearing.
"N-No... I will not let you!" Akira reaches his ODM gear, but the only thing left is his sword, and everything is destroyed by the crash. Akira held his sword tightly as suddenly he relaxed. He dropped all his gears and only held his sword tightly.
He takes some belts from ODM and tightens his hand with the sword. He coughs with blood again.
'Guess I have some internal damage. If Ultrapower can't use in the Ultraform...' While in thought, a 13-meter Titan is standing behind him, ready to grab and eat him. "THEN I WILL USE IT WITH MY OWN BODY!"
In a split second, the Titan hand that tries to reach Akira is cut into a dozen pieces; before the Titan can react, Its head is cut from the body.
The lifeless Titan fall to the ground as Akira lands on top of it, standing with a serious face. His body starts to leak a white aura and surround his body, and an aura diamond mark appears on his forehead, showing he uses Ultrapower.
More Titan comes toward him as Akira's aura changes to purple and disappears in blinks.
From 5-meter Titan to 15-meter Titan, Akira moved so fast and killed one by one Titan heads fell as soon as with their body.
"12 T-Titans are dead..." Akira notices his nose is bleeding, but he ignores it as he wipes it off, and his hands tremble.
If he is honest with himself, he is so much in pain right now, but he can't just lay there and wait for someone to save him; no, these people need his help more than he does.
Suddenly, he heard a child's scream, and he started to move and ignore all the pain he had; as he arrived, he saw a female adult and many children on the corner of the destroyed house and two half-adult bodies. Titans surround the house.
The 15-meter Titan starts to grab the woman as other Titans, which are slightly tiny, grab the children.
The woman and the child close their eyes, waiting for their death. But it never came instead of a blood splashing.
Everyone opens their eyes as they fall to the ground; they are shocked when they see Akira covered in Titan's blood.
"Hey, you! Bring the children to safety." Akira points to the other walls; Akira understands they are afraid of everything. "Is okay; just go. I will cover you from here." Akira dismissed his aura, which shocked his body, and he almost screamed in pain. Akira ignores it again as he smiles at the children and the woman.
The woman nodded as she and the other children ran to safety, and then one child stopped at Akira and held his trembling arm.
"Promise me to stay alive, mister." The child said to him as he smiled and petted her head.
"I-I promise... now go..." Akira smiles; the child is cute, with brown hair and green eyes.
"Thank you. My name is Asuka." The child smiled as Akira's eyes were wide open when he heard her name.
"Mine is Akira... and promise me back to bring the other to safety, and I promise to protect you from here, okay, Asuka-chan?" Akira smiled back as he saw the child nod and let go of his arm and others. "Other dimension, other Asuka..." He said to himself as he turned and saw a dozen Titans coming toward him.
"As long I breathe... I will not let you harm the Innocent life!" He activated his Ultrapower again. "And this is the end of you!" Akira dashed with superspeed with a blade in his hand.

30 mins later, Armin, Erin, Mina, Thomas, and other cadets are flying from building to building to find a survivor.
Erin still remembers how silent Mikasa was when she learned about Akira.

•Flashback•
Twenty minutes ago, Erin tried to call Mikasa when she knew Akira had disappeared or, mostly in their mind, dead. Erin saw Mikasa clutching the scarf that she had gotten from Akira.
Her friend is surprised at the news, and then suddenly, someone grabs her collar and pulls her up into the air.
"You better kill thou, Titan! Erin! Don't make his sacrifice meaningless to you!" The one who said that was Ymir. Erin didn't say anything as Mikasa and Christa broke the fight.

•End Flashback•
"Erin!" Erin snaps back from the past as she notices Armin calls her.
"Yeah?" The brown hair replies back.
"Stay focused..." The blonde said to her as Erin nodded.

Mikasa, with her team, just managed to open the gate for civilians to go to their safety.
Mikasa really wants to give thanks to Akira at this time; her mother and Carla are out of town to Akira's suggestion to stay inside Walls Sheena for a couple of weeks with a lot of money he gives.
Mikasa holds the blue scarf tightly as she watches Survivor enter their safety. Some survivors thanked them, but some of them didn't as all the survivors entered, and the gate started to close. Mikasa notices one group with many children arrive.
"WAIT!! WAIT FOR US! PLEASE!" The same Woman, Akira Safe, yells toward them.
"WAIT!! DON'T CLOSE THE DOOR!" Mikasa yells toward the gate handler.
The children fall to the ground because of exhaustion; they run from the front gate to the back gate.
"Please help them. They are being run nonstop since that guy saved us." The woman said as she fell down to her knees, panting.
"Soldiers, carry the children to the gate!" The Leader said to others as they picked the child into the gate.
"Miss, you said you are running... where are you running from?" The Leader asks the woman as she replies.
"We are from the front gate, and there are not my children. They are my neighbour's children, and we are the only ones left from the front gate; we thought we were going to die until a young man saved us..." That is the last word from that woman as she passed out from exhaustion.
"Damn it, and she passes out." The Leader carries the woman.
Mikasa gonna carry the same girl that Akira introduce to.
"H-He really keeps his word," Asuka said to herself.
"Who?" Mikasa asks as she wants the answer.
'That woman said someone saved them; that must be Akira because all soldiers are called regroup, and the only soldier left is Akira. It must be him! he must be out there, alive!' Mikasa's thoughts stopped when the girl said to her.
"H-He, promise me that he will protect everyone from there; he prevents Titan from entering the walls," Asuka said as she was also about to pass out.
"Who is the person that safe you?!" Mikasa wants to know now.
"Ackerman! What are you doing?!" Mikasa's team yelled to her as they saw Mikasa shake Asuka.
Mikasa ignored all the calls as Asuka said to her. "H-His name is Akira..."
Mikasa's eyes were wide open as tears getter from her eyes; she hugged Asuka and thanked Asuka. "Thank you, Thank you..." Mikasa team, calm down a bit.
Asuka closed her eyes with a smile as she said. "Y-You must help him; he can hold long enough. he is already in pain when he helps us..." Asuka's last word before she passes out.
"I will, and thank you." Mikasa smiled at the child.
"That makes sense." The Leader said to everyone as everyone looks their Leader.
"What do you mean?" The soldier asked as she passed the child to the Survivor.
"Think about it, and we saw none, not even one Titan everywhere for a while now... this Akira must be so strong, like I heard about, to keep Titan from coming in. It seems rumour about him is true." Then he saw Mikasa past Asuka to the Survivor.
"Cadet Ackerman! You dismissed from an escort team, and I order you to help the Akira guy hold the Titan from coming in." The Leader said to Mikasa as she nodded while saying thank you.
Mikasa runs as she uses her gear to fly toward the front gate.
"Are you crazy?! She is only a cadet!" The other soldier said to the Leader.
"SILENT!!! I know what I'm doing! Do not underestimate what this Akira can do. and she is his student, and mostly she is top of his student." The Leader replies.
"Why have we never heard about him? And what can he do?" The other soldier asks.
"I never saw it myself but heard rumours that this Akira is far stronger than an average human, and he can train them to be like him, and cadet Ackerman is one of his students." The Leader replies.
---
With speed, Mikasa forgot one thing that Akira taught her: Ki Sense; she kept flying past building by building until she heard someone call her.
"MIKASA, WAIT!" Mikasa turned her head toward the voice as she saw Erin and her team were unharmed.
"Erin..." Mikasa stopped on top of the roof as Erin, Armin, Tomas, and Mina. "What are you doing here?" Mikasa asks them.
"We notice there no Titan are nearby; we gonna check the front gate," Armin said as suddenly more teams came to the roof. The Top 10 is all on that roof, with Mina, Tomas, and Daz.
"If you want to talk about 'is there no Titan at your place?' the answer is yes," Jean said the other nod.
"Same with me," Ymir said as she crossed her arm.
"Seriously, where is the Titan? It's not like I want them here, but we didn't see one of them." Connie said that as he rubbed his head.
"Mikasa, can you use your Ki sense?" Armin asks, and Mikasa seems surprised; how could she forget that?
Mikasa starts using her Ki sense right away as she senses Akira from far away, right at the front gate, and his Ki drops bit by bit.
Annie also tries the same, and it seems she also forgot it, but her Ki sense arent strong as Mikasa's. She can only feel a tiny bit of Akira Ki, but she knows him there, and his Ki is dropping because she almost can't feel him the longer she senses him.
"It's Akira, and we must help him now!" Annie and Mikasa said the same thing, and all of them were in shock.
"Akira is ALIVE!?" Erin is the one who asked that.
"Yes, for now! Now we must hurry! his Ki is dropping!" Mikasa said, and as she didn't want to wait anymore, she jumped on the roof.
"Come one, what we are waiting for!" Jean said to all of them as they nodded.
Everyone left the roof except Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt. Annie pulls her sword out and aims toward Berholdt.
"If he dies because of you... I will kill you myself." Annie treats Bertholdt as the blade slightly bleeds his neck. "I know you were trying to kill him... why?"
"He is enemies! With his power, he gonna be a huge threat to us. I must destroy him before it is too late." Bertholdt, sweatdrop at this.
"Calm down, you two! Now we gonna move, and Bertholdt, this is the time you gonna pay what you do to Akira," Reiner said as Annie calmed down a bit as she jumped and followed the others.
Bertholdt tightened his fist as Reiner held his shoulder and said. "Hey, I know you love Annie, but she has already made her choice."
"I-I know... but why him? Why the enemies!" Bertholdt's anger rises, and he calms himself down. "You might be right... she already made her choice... as long she is happy, I'm happy... at this point, I just want to go home..."
"Then let's finish our mission later and go home." Reiner smiles at Bertholdt as he smiles back.

The cadets arrived at Akira's battlefield; they saw a dozen of Titan's bodies smoking.
"Is this what Akira is fighting for?" Jean asks as everybody can see his disbelieving face.
"Awesome. He has been fighting this long, alone," Connie said with surprise.
"Akira, where are you?!" Erin said to herself as they all started searching for Akira.
"Mikasa, can you sense him?" Christa ask, as Mikasa nod.
"Yes, he is nearby. I just can't locate him," Mikasa replies as Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt arrive.
"Then we all should keep searching, but be careful. Titan can be around," Marco said to his teammate.
After 15 minutes of searching, they didn't find Akira. Suddenly, they heard a scream.
"HELP! PLEASE, SOME-SOMEONE HELP ME!" The one who screams is Daz, and then the other screams.
"HELP! PLEASE HELP ME!" This time, it is Tomas.
Everyone rushed to them as they all saw in slo-mo Daz about to pull into two. Tomas is about to get eaten, and Mina is also there, too scared to move and about to get crushed by a 17-meter Titan.
"NOO!!!" Erin screams as suddenly.
A blink of light came from the rubble house, and a purple blur came out from the house and straight to the Titans and Killed them by cutting the heads off and safe Mina from getting crushed.
Tomas and Daz fall to the ground, panting. Mina slowly opened her eyes, and she saw bloody Akira.
Akira has a broken left arm, his body has several deep cuts, and many lights cut. His eyes right eye is closed while his left is half-open. He carries Mina with his single arm, the arm he tightens with the sword broken in half.
Akira put Mina down as he turned toward his friends; the male sighed in relief as the female smiled with teary eyes.
"A-Akira..." Mina said to Akira.
"I'm glad you are safe... h-hey guys, can you take over? The Titan isn't as much as before now. I'm sure you all can handle it... I gonna... rest a bit..." Akira falls to the ground as Mina catches him because she is the closest to him.
"AKIRA!" Mikasa and the others dashed toward Akira.
"Is he dead?!" Annie asks Mikasa when she tries with her Ki sense. Annie also can but can't feel his Ki no more. Mikasa shook her head.
"No, he is still alive but barely alive. His Ki is so small. We must bring him to the infirmary! His Ki is dropping!"
"No, at least not all of us... Mina, Tomas, Daz, and I will take Akira with me, and all of you can continue what Akira left." Armin said to Mikasa and the others.
"Hell no! Tomas and Daz can stay here! we didn't even know how they gonna handle when other Titans are attacking all of you while you carry Akira, so Christa, Mina and I are going with you." Ymir said that as Armin nodded,
Other females also want to come, especially Mikasa, but she knows this is the best plan.
"Be careful," Mikasa said to Armin as he took Akira from Mina.
"We will," Armin replied.
Armin, Mina, Ymir, and Christa are off with an injured Akira.
"Now, let's kill some Titan!" Connie said, bringing his blades out.

(That is a wrap for chapter 12, this is the longest chapter I have done in this story)

(And the Asuka girl is a Cameo character, actually, but I kinda like it when she is part of the story, so she is in.)
