"After your actions, it is best that you raise them to never be like you. Before your younger brothers found their destined mates, they had been faithful in their past relationships, unlike you. Now, I expect you to be a faithful husband to Morticia and a loving father to your offspring." Vlad seethed his vexation, and then he shooed his son to the dungeon.
With his head held high, Gaston left with his father's guardians.
"That was pretty harsh," I muttered.
Kai sighed. "He was furious, so he said a few things he didn't mean."
"So you have some of your grandfather's traits whenever you get mad," I noted this because he recently said some harsh words to me too.
Kai exhaled. "I'm sorry for what I said back in Ivan's bedroom. I just need you on my side," he apologized.
I frowned as I whispered. "I am on your side."
Vlad's voice shattered the silence throughout the council room when he snapped at Vincent. "You never told me it was my son who betrayed them!"
"You didn't want to hear it. Just like you wouldn't listen to how Gaston truly felt about Emily. He was marrying her to please you." Vincent refuted, and Vlad stiffened his lip since he knew it was true.
"Perhaps I was too hard on him. Then maybe if I wasn't, he would have told me about Morticia, and I could have handled Morbius better." Vlad softened his voice as sadness poured from his heart.
"Maybe, or there was nothing that could change Morbius's feelings," Vincent implied. "Morbius and his allies have always hated me. I've always felt he was planning on detaining me. He never liked Emily's friendship with Morticia either."
"Hmm, perhaps you are right about this." Vlad hummed as he grimaced.
Staying on the more optimistic side, Edgar spoke in. "I wouldn't stress over this right now. Let Morbius have his space. I'd say try talking to him later. In the meantime, you both should be thrilled about the news of having another vamp grandbaby on the way. Your Covens will now be united by this marriage and the vamp baby."
"Despite the situation, it is exciting that we will be sharing a grandchild. After all, the unborn vamp baby is innocent." Vincent smiled as he couldn't disagree with Edgar.
"It's very exciting. It will be a good change for Gaston to be a father and husband like his younger brothers." Vlad chuckled at the idea.
"It's always nice to sit back and watch our offspring be the parents while we get to enjoy the grandchildren," Vincent added, and they chuckled as my mind started to fade.
"Where am I going?" I panicked.
"Your time-gap triggered itself." Kai soothed me. "I'll pull you out."
Wherever it took me, I heard panicked thundering screams before my sight reached a clearer picture. Out in the distance, a glorious palace was getting destroyed by fire. Brimstone hailed from the sky like balls of fire that collided into the desert. High in the sky, vampires battled above the burning palace. Stretched out along the sandy ground, an army of vampires charged this way.
"This was the day my grandfather lost the palace. I was only three days old," Kai affirmed, and I recognized it all. Without Kai knowing it, I witnessed his mother grabbing him and his brother and sister in my time-gap. I turned around and realized Vlad's palace was the next to be struck as his Coven's army came to face the enemies. To join Vlad, with their armies, were Vincent, Edgar, and their other allies, and yet, even standing together, their armies were still outnumbered by these invaders.
"Morbius..." Vlad uttered as he watched the palace before us smothering in flames, which I gathered was Morbius's land.
"He got his Coven out," Edgar informed him right before Morbius and his battered army arrived.
"We lost, you must retreat," Morbius exhorted to Vlad, and you could detect they still had a connection. Although, I didn't miss the fact he was glaring at Vincent.
"The vampiresses need to leave!" Vlad growled. "We lost this battle."
Gaston protested as he worried. "My wife just had a baby. She's too weak to leave."
"My wife had twins, so if she can escape, then Morticia can too, unless you married a worthless mother and queen for your clan." Mason denigrated Kai's mother.
"Orlando and Alejandro were born when you were born," I stated at the realization.
"Yes, we were only hours apart," Kai affirmed, and this wasn't the only thing I learned because I noticed that the Alpha Wing Vampire beside Mr. Collin was glaring at Mr. Mill for his remark as I could connect the dots that he was Elizabeth's father, who turned the other Alpha vampire into stone after he detained Kai's mother, which still has yet to occur since Mrs. Collin is currently inside the palace.
"We can't give up our home!" Gaston still disagreed as he ignored Mr. Mill's vitriolic comment.
"It's better to give up our home than lose our Coven," Vlad declared. "Everyone is to meet at the haven. Then we'll leave for Earth."
"Duncan, tell my wife she needs to leave now with the vampiresses!" Gaston ordered, and now I could pinpoint when Duncan left to deliver the message.
"I'll warn her!" Duncan confirmed before he vanished to warn Kai's mother.
"Everyone prepare to fight!" Vlad roared like a mighty king. "We need to hold them off for as long as we can so the vampiresses and our offspring have time to escape. We'll migrate to Earth once we have everyone."
"I'm going with you to Earth," Morbius declared, and Vlad gave him an untrusting expression, but he couldn't speak because the battle was heading their way.
"I'm pulling you out," Kai told me.
Thousands of vampires collided with each other, and they began to battle. Their roars faded as a new light flickered into my eyes, where I found Kai gazing at me.
"Were they still friends when you lost the palace and the land on this planet?" I questioned Kai as he carefully helped me to sit up.
"Sort of, but they had a shaky friendship," Kai verified. "Once my second generation got older. Problems started again. There was no fixing anything between our Covens."
"How does any of this relate to me?" I mumbled.
"You and Zoey are vampiric foreseen prophecies. Zoey was prophesied to be a powerful healer. There was no way Morbius was about to allow my grandparents' Covens to become more powerful because my parent's sons were destined to be with two prophecies. To steal the mates of my dad's sons became the ideal revenge for Morbius. His Coven would be more powerful after Zoey married CJ and you married Orlando." Kai revealed, yet I wasn't entirely shocked.
"What prophecy am I?"
"The prophecy of time, which predicted you would attain three gifts," Kai replied, and I zoned out for a bit until I heard his voice say. "It's time to head home."
That ended the longest time gap. Let me know your thoughts. As a reminder, this chapter connects to Ch 251: "Ancient Vampire Battle and Ch 252: A Vampire's Grief" read back to those chapters if you wish to. We all know Mrs. Collin was a strong mother and Clan Queen when she tried to escape.
Also for reference: "Ch 341: Grandfathers" will jar you memory on when Vincent warned Vlad about Morbius betrayal that happened between their Covens. Thanks for the powerstones, I hope to hear from you.
