Bab 43: calm before the storm
"again" I yell out, looking at sasuke trying to fuse both his elements, but this time he is using the black flames... and failing.
looking closer, I decide to stop, we have been going for a few hours by now, and he needs rest when pain attacks, I think they planned to Attack Konoha before Jiraya went there, it only sped things up.
"Alright, take the rest of the day off" I speak up as I get closer, but he cuts me off.
"I can't rest now, Naruto is getting stronger, can't lose to the dobe" with a smirk on his face he straightens up.
"Yeah, but unlike you, all he has to do is sit and absorb chakra, while you use up yours," I remark with a blank look on my face.
"I guess" with a sigh he picks up his sword laid next to a Tree, and started walking towards the exit of the training ground. and with a shrug, I follow.
it's been 5 days since that pervert took Naruto to learn the sage mode... I still wonder what did he learn in that two and a half years.
"... so" I start with a teasing voice" have you been interested in anyone lately?" I ask giving a side glance to the duckbutt.
he stops, and I look back, and slowly a grin stretched on my face.
but the next second he was gone in a body flicker. and with a chuckle, I head off to my house, I have nothing to do and the sun is still high up in the sky.
getting in my house I sit on the couch and...

nothing, stupid brain, with a sigh I get decide to take a nap when I heard a knock on the door...
well, I certainly didn't have any guests lately... or ever, so the only possibility is that this is my dad informing me that I have a mission.
getting up, I head straight to the door to let the person in... only to see Temari on the other end... huh?
"Well, hello there" a smirk on her face knowing that she caught me off guard.
"didn't know you were in the village... come in" I make way for her to come inside, which she does, and looks around with a curious face.
"This place needs decoration," she remarked absently looking at my living room.
"im staying here for a few days by the way, maybe a week," she remarked offhandedly. wait, she's staying? no, the attack might happen any day now, it's not safe damn it, why now?
"okay" was my reply despite the thoughts in my head.
"want my help in decorating the place?" she asked, and I nod in response, I'll just need to repurchase everything when the village is rebuilt but that's fine, I got a good amount of cash hunting for those three years and Kisame had a large bounty.
with a smile that could rival the sun, she dragged me out of my apartment to the furniture store.
oh no... it was a trap, what did I just agree to?
the shopping spree was fine, I survived, I got out with a new couch a table, a lamp...why do I need a lamp? a shelf, and a new bed...
"Okay, but why a new bed though?" I ask looking at her while pocketing the scroll I sealed the disassembled bed in.
she doesn't answer and just looks away...and Is that a blush I see?
it was already late so time to go back home.
getting inside the house I lock the door... you know, someone could sneak in...
as I turn on the sink to make a few water clones, I send them off to put the bed together as I walk over to where my old couch was...and replace it.
as Temari sits down, I walk over to the bookshelf and take out a book called... icha icha... Kakashi you bastard.
putting the book back where I took it from and take the next one.
"on the other side," I say out loud and the second I say that I spot a blur coming my way and the book was gone.
looking back I see Temari reading the first chapter intently.
"I didn't know you had this," she said a little excitement leaking through her voice.
to be honest I didn't know either, with a shrug I sit down next to her and start reading too...
it's a book about two lovers who are enemies in a war... what do girls like in this?
a few chapters in I notice that my water clones are done with their assignment, as they come downstairs and dissolve into water and down the sink... I should learn shadow clones, can't believe I don't know that yet.
"let's go check the bed, they're done," I say as I stand up, heading towards the stairs.
"told you it would look nice," remarked Temari with a smirk as we went into the bedroom.
"hmm I guess I'll be taking the couch then, see you in the morning," I say with a shrug and as I was about to walk out my wrist was grabbed...
"you can sleep here too you know?" she said in a low voice
