Bab 3: Chapter 3 (My workplace )
His house was so well furnished. It seemed like he from a rich family. As I was looking around, I hit my head on his back. I took a few steps back as he turned around. He asked," Don't you know that you have to look straight while walking?" I clasped my hands and looked down quietly. After sometime, I said, " I am sorry. I didn't mean too." He put his hand out and said, " It's fine. We still haven't yet introduced each other. Hi I am Bai Fu and I am 25 yrs old." I took a deep breath and said while shaking his hand," Hello, my name is Xinxin and I am 22 yrs old." He then said," Umm the food is getting cold. Let's first have dinner." I said, " Ok." As we ate out food, we didn't speak a word as I was a bit afraid to start a conversation. After dinner, I thanked him for the invitation and as I was about to bid him farewell, he came very close to me and said near my ears, " Don't bid farewell so early, we will meet tomorrow." My heart was beating so fast that I was unable to say something to him. I stepped a little back and said, "Good night." I bowed my head and quickly rushed back to my room. I don't know what was going on with me but after I closed the door, I could hear my heart beat. It was so loud that apart from the clock's ticking, I could hear my heartbeat. It's the first time I had felt such a weird feeling. I took a warm bath and went to prepare for my first work at Homeware productions.
The next day, early in the morning, I woke up at 6 am and prepared my breakfast. I did a few workouts and went for a bath. After bath I wore my office clothes and had my breakfast. It was a fresh day and a new start for me. My office place is just a 20 minute walk from my home. I checked the time on the way to office and saw that it was just 8:30 am. I am supposed to reach before 9am. When I reached the office, my manager Miss Li Wei was already in her place . I greeted her and asked her some tips as it was not yet time. She said that, " Okay since you insist, let me tell you some main points to remember during work. First always remember to come before 9am because if you come late, your salary will reduce by the end of the month. Some people work hard all day but due to time management, they don't receive their salary. Our CEO is always time punctual and a cleanliness freak. Second, always submit to the work assigned to you before the due date. Never gossip during work hours. Wear accordingly to office uniform. Never bully with your colleagues. Ah! There are so many rules to follow during work and almost all the rules are about disciplines. So you can know for yourself. Wait here have this book. All the rules are written here. Read them when you are at home. For now just remember these few rules."
I thanked Miss Li Wei and went back to my seat.
After a while, when all the office employees were present, Miss Li Wei called out all the interns and took us to a separate room. She told us to have a sit. After all were settled, she said," Good morning to all. There are a total of 30 interns who joined our group this year. We are happy to have you all here. Hope we can advance our relationship properly within these 6 months. As you all know the rules of working here, I hope no one creates a problem which will create a bad reputation to our company. You will be changing from one workplace to another during this time as you are supposed to learn each and everything during these months. The best candidate will receive a verified certificate from our company. This certificate will help you during your job interviews in other companies. You will be given points when you finish the work assigned to you. But if you create mischief, points will be deducted and so will your salary. The person with the least points will not get the certificate.
Everyday when you enter the company, remember to come here first so as to take your attendance. This will also help you to know your fellow colleagues. Now let me invite our CEO to say a few lines. Oh and remember to bow your head whenever you see the CEO. If he tells you to rise, then rise or else don't. He likes disciplined people." Miss Wei told us to stand up and bow our heads as the CEO enters. As I was bowing, I was a bit nervous as there were many rules and regulations to follow. It was a piece of cake for me but till now, I have never followed so many rules. So I wondered how our CEO looks like. I thought he must be a middle aged man as he was a cleanliness freak. When the CEO entered, he told us to raise our heads. My heart skipped a beat as I was shocked. I had heard his voice before. It was dark and warm. When I raised my head, I was surprised and took a step back.
