Chapter-2
[Alice Wilson POV]
Hearing the knock on my window, I immediately rushed up to the window to open it as this has been the way Nat enters my house for the past 3 days. Nat swooped inside the moment I opened my window and made himself comfortable in my bed, seriously man, couldn't you greet me with a kiss or something
"You are earlier than usual, anything happened?"
He sat upright and looked at me with a serious face, I immediately knew something serious happened to make him behave like this.
"Yeah my father agreed both of us can become hunters one condition is that we should train under him in defenders for the next 3 years, But my mom still disagrees."
I became very happy at Uncle Darvin's approval of our decision, we thought he would never agree as he exactly knew what was there in savage lands as he performed many missions in those lands to reduce the risk of monsters attacking our city. His mother not accepting is not really a surprise as my parents would have done the same if they were alive. Thinking about my parents made my eyes wet and made my hands tremble. Nat seeing me immediately knew what was happening and got off the bed and came near me. He gently cupped my cheeks with his hands and wiped off the tears and looked me directly in the eyes, His bright blue crystal of an eye was filled with concern and love, for me. He gently leaned in and kissed my lips, it wasn't a passionate one just one filled with love and care. After finishing the kiss he leaned in and placed his forehead on mine our noses touching each other, both of us closed our eyes and enjoy the moment.
"So what's your decision babe?" he gently asked still remaining in the same position.
"Let's do it, it is just 3 years, and both of us will probably reach the 4-star rank in magic and would be at least as strong as an A-ranked fighter" I leaned back and broke off the sad mood to reply the obvious as who doesn't want to become stronger in this unpredictable word. He laughed awkwardly and scratch the back of his head,
"About that babe, I just reached the 4-ranked mage state this morning. It was the reason my father even agreed to our dream."
I just stood there, gobsmacked, this dummy just went ahead and left me in the dust. I immediately jumped over him and locked my arms and legs around his neck and hips, Pushing him down the floor.
"You BIG IDIOT!!, how can you leave your future wife behind the dust while you keep getting better and you even forgot to say the news to me!!"
I started tickling him as much as possible, knowing his weak points, neck, and hips. He laughed continuously and replied
"I'm sorr- hahaha-*breathing-sound* please stop I just forgot in the heat of the moment" I stopped finding it as enough punishment for him.
"Wait did you just call yourself my future wife?" he asked after realizing my slip-up during the moment
I couldn't speak and blushed very hard and looked at the ground marveling at the design of my plain red carpet. He kept laughing at my current behavior. He suddenly lifted me off the floor and put me down on the bed and directly looked at my silver eyes with his deep blue ones. He was over me, I could feel the warmth radiating off him. he, with a serious look asked,
"Are you serious?" he asked, I couldn't help but be captivated by him, is this how he felt while asking me out? I don't know maybe I never will but one thing I knew for sure is that I will regret losing this perfect opportunity for the rest of my life. Looking directly into his eyes that was filled with resolve and love, I knew immediately what to say.
"Yes, I love you" He broke a smile, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, A tear unknowingly left my eye. He leaned in and kissed me very deeply which conveyed all his emotions. I hugged him tightly and kissed him like it was my last kiss.
"I too love you" he replied after kissing we just hugged each other for a while and I asked him to come to our research room to continue our study on the corpse of a Beta-level rabbit which we could only acquire due to uncle's help. The rabbit looked like something straight out of a child's nightmare, it had a body of a human with its fingers containing long and strong claws that could easily penetrate a 2-inch deep steel without taking damage. Its legs were the same as a rabbit's which gave it a high mobility and jump. Its head was still the same as a rabbit's but a lot more scary. (PIC)
I used my mana to make a spear made of rocks and shot it toward the rabbit's corpse but the spear didn't do much damage and broke. This phenomenon, the topic of our current research, A Monster's magic resistance, according to Nat, the monsters like humans are having a special gene, which gives them resistance to magic attacks hence magic resistance. But buffs still worked on them which is a topic for a later day.
"A Beta-level rabbit's magic resistance is strong enough to tank a 2-star mage's attack without much damage and survive a 3-star mage's attack. Its skin and bones are usually used to make mid-level armor, shields, and weapons, and its leg muscles are used to make strings in bows and crossbows" he said and made a blade out of ice and proceed to cut open its abdomen and froze all the blood that started to gush out in the air, Damn being a 4-star mage is convenient.
"The organs also contain some magic resistance not as much as the skin and bones but enough to survive after being attacked by a 2-star mage." He proceeded to take a piece of meat from the rabbit and went near a transparent glass container that had a live Gamma–level rat, the rat tried to screech and scratch the container but no matter what it did it resulted in nothing. He dropped the meat inside the container, and the rat before even the meat landed launched itself at the meat and ate the meat within seconds.
Nathan fired a small needle through a small gap in the container and saw that the needle didn't do anything other than give the rat some wetness, " If Monster A eats Monster B, A will have an increase in Magic resistance if B is stronger than on equal in terms of strength. This is either due to the magic resistance gene or due to eating the meat, but the odds of it being the latter is low as people who ate monsters for survival never showed any signs of processing magic resistance."
He and I looked at each other at the same time, we both laughed and rushed at each other at the same time, he hugged and swooped me off the ground spinning me in the air.
"I can't believe we found something like this, this is gonna be revolutionary, with this, we can increase the power of the mounts and domesticate monsters" I exclaimed while he stopped spinning and hugged me, I leaned on his chest hearing his excited heartbeat.
"I'm gonna inform my mom and dad about this, seeing our achievement they will find less reluctance in sending us to savage lands and the government will also support up in the future if we need any permission or help" he released me from the hug and we took all the video, audio and written proof about our research. Even though we conducted illegal research using illegal means, the UG will leave us with a slap on our hands as our punishment. The laws were way less retarded when compared to pre-awakening, the human species as a whole only considered its survival, and there is no hero and villain concept. Being rich meant nothing when a monster could kill a whole city's population only using a fart, yes it is the apex skunk, its fart even melted a fucking tank that was positioned to attack that thing.

"Love you too" he pecked my lips and took off by jumping out of the window, I looked down without concern as even without any flying abilities he could easily survive a fall of 30 meters from my apartment. I was amazed as unlike my wind wings his wings materialized as he fell in a stunning manner, he flew off to the direction of the base while gliding and flapping his wings occasionally.
Seeing there was nothing to do I decided to make sketches of how my costume should look, after completing it, it was not up to my taste so I tore off the paper and crumbled it into a ball, and threw it perfectly in the bin, after celebrating my win I decided to go get some air, after wearing my shoes I went to the old abandoned factory near my apartment complex while walking towards the factory I saw a middle-aged woman who was consoling a little girl but the weird part was when she managed to console the child and went the same direction I was headed to After a while she entered a suspicious SUV which was conveniently parked inside the factory without locked doors, This just screamed suspension. I decided to intervene and make my presence known by coughing.
"*cough* the weather is quite good, isn't it miss?" I asked her, she panicked and hurridly pushed the girl behind her
"Yes it is" she smiled and replied
"Is that your daughter miss?"
"Yes, we were just going to leave and don't come here after this mam this place is very dangerous" she pushed the girl inside the car.
"Aunty it hurts don't push" the girl whined and showed the lady's hand away. This conforms it the girl's being kidnapped. Sigh the world is full of chaos and instead of ensuring her survival this bitch is trying for money. Humans are indeed the most intelligent and stupid creatures in the world.
I changed into my organic diamond form which made me stop aging and become nearly indestructible to physical force, I didn't even consider not going out at the very start as for all I know she could have the ability to kill people by touching, I used my wind magic <Wind's Feet> which allow me to travel faster than normal and remove air friction when I am moving, I snatched away the little girl and used my earth magic <Sink Hole> A deep hole manifested below the lady with seemingly no end and as the lady fell the hole closed itself and stopping the scream of the lady.
I didn't talk with the little girl and just dropped her before the police station and left the
