"YOU DON'T KNOW what you're talking about," he lied smoothly. "Lucian isn't in any criminal organizations and I think you've been reading too many fantasy novels."

"That sounds like a scripted response," Katerina sneered. "Did Lucian tell you to say that in case anyone asked about his business?"

"Lucian has a legal business," Shiloh shot back. "And I'm sick of you talking to me like I can't think for myself. You don't know what you are saying so I suggest you back off right now."

"Yes, I do and by the looks of it, so do you I can see it in your eyes. You can't lie to me I know you better than anybody," Katerina persisted. "Lucian has been lying to you because that's what people like him do, they build their lives on deceit and cruelty—"

"You've only been with Jacob so don't talk like you know so much about the world."
