Bab 30: The Eldorian courage

"Don't worry, I'm harmless, I promise, just let me, heheh~ heheheh," Bulk panted heavily as he stumbled to a halt before Mona.

Mona remained rooted at a spot, her eyes seemingly uninterested, yet they held a mysterious depth.

"Here, don't be shy, just a little…" Mark's hand landed on Mona's shoulder, and her gaze ignited with fury.

"Hands off," Mona commanded, her voice dripping with warning. In an instant, her sword leaped from its sheath, a flash of gleaming steel that defied the laws of physics.

It streaked forward with a speed that blurred the world around it, a metallic serpent coiled to strike. It circled Bulk, its movements an intricate dance, too swift for the human eye to follow.

After a few heart-stopping seconds, the blade returned to its sheath within Mona's arm, a seamless ballet of deadly grace. With a chilling swiftness, Bulk's body crumpled to the ground.

Mina's sword had carved him into grotesque fragments before he could even contemplate blinking.

The area was now a macabre theater of horror, the air tainted with the metallic tang of freshly spilled blood.

In front of everyone watching, Bulk's dismembered form lay sprawled in a gruesome tableau, crimson pooling around him.

The rain of blood was both surreal and horrifying, as if the heavens themselves wept for the fallen.

It fell in a ceaseless, morbid drizzle, painting the ground in gruesome patterns. Mona, the silent harbinger of destruction, stood amid the crimson deluge, an unyielding figure amidst the carnage.

Her gaze remained locked on the lifeless remains before her, as if searching for answers in the shattered remnants of Bulk's existence.

"What in the hell…" Luke's voice quivered with fear, his wide eyes locked onto the gruesome tableau unfolding before him.

His thoughts raced like a whirlwind, 'Were they always this strong?' Luke's clenched fist trembled with anger as he shifted his gaze to Arthur, the suspicion in his eyes unmistakable. 'No doubt this bastard is behind this!'

"Oh my… Mona, you didn't have to cut him up like that… poor guy," Isla's voice quivered as she spoke, her hand instinctively rising to cover her horrified mouth. Her eyes, though filled with shock, held a perverse fascination. "I'd give that… 25 points."

Arthur, the enigmatic figure at the heart of this blood-soaked drama, remained an inscrutable presence in the shadows, his expression concealed by the dim lighting. His silence spoke volumes, a sinister acknowledgment of the chaos that had unfolded.

Mona, took measured steps toward her master. Her demeanor, once fierce and deadly, now carried an air of exhaustion and vulnerability. Her voice trembled with a hint of desperation. "Master… I'm tired."

Arthur gazed shifted towards her, his hand gently caressing the loyal companion by his side.

"You did well," he murmured, his fingers tenderly ruffling the fur on her head. Yet, the tranquility of the moment was tainted by an impending storm. "But you can't sleep yet. I'm about to make the bad guys cry… you don't want to miss that".

Luke, still in a state of shock from the astounding display he had just witnessed, found his voice. He shot a fierce glare at Arthur, their eyes locked in a battle of wills, unyielding and filled with unspoken challenges.

As Arthur and Luke locked eyes, the women of the village stood frozen in disbelief. The women had never expected one of their own to possess such formidable strength.

The air was charged with tension, and a hushed silence hung like a heavy curtain.

However, witnessing Mona's determination firsthand began to awaken something deep within the women. Slowly, like the petals of a blossoming flower, they found their courage.

One by one, they stepped forward, forming a determined line that stretched across the village entrance. Their collective resolve transformed the tranquil village into a fortress, a barrier of unity and defiance.

Amidst the tension that hung heavy in the air, Asorth stepped forward, her sword catching the sunlight and sending glimmers of defiance into the atmosphere. Her voice, firm yet laced with a thread of civility, cut through the silence like a blade.

"Sorry, but we don't plan to go anywhere without a fight," Asorth declared, her stance resolute, her eyes stern and focused. Her sword gleamed in her grasp.

"Please return back to the capital; there's nothing here for you to take."

Luke's face contorted with irritation, his brows furrowing as he struggled to comprehend the audacity of the villagers before him. His incredulous response escaped in a disbelieving whisper,

"What?".

Luna, never one to mince words, added her own voice to the fray. Her tone was sharper, her words a defiant echo of the sentiment that now coursed through the village.

"Sorry, she tends to speak nicely sometimes," Luna interjected, a sly smile playing at the corner of her lips.

"So I'll make it clear… Get lost. We have nothing to fear from the black knights... Courage found... It's just that simple".

The women, emboldened by the fearless stand taken by their leaders, didn't hold back.

They unleashed a torrent of insults and taunts that filled the air with a cacophonous symphony of defiance.

Their voices, once timid, now rang out with strength, a united chorus that declared their village impervious to fear.

"No…"

As Luke's frustration reached a fever pitch, he let out a vehement roar that echoed through the village.

His face contorted with rage, and he clawed at his hair in a wild, almost manic manner. His voice rose in a crescendo of disbelief and indignation.

"No, no, no, no, no, no!" Luke's words were a frenzied chant, his fingers raking through disheveled locks. "Revolting, revolting, revolting! Where do you all get off telling me what to do?"

His furious tirade continued unabated. "I work for the king! Do you really think you can defy the king, you foolish idiots? I'll make you pay for your insolence. Mark my words, your happy days are over! Just wait until the king hears about this."

Amidst Luke's chaotic outburst, Arthur's voice cut through the storm of anger like a calm, beacon of hope. He turned his gaze, cool and calculating, towards the agitated intruder.

"Are you done?" Arthur's voice was measured, his tone unyielding. His eyes fixed intently on Luke, their depths holding a promise of resolve. "I believe the deal was, if you can't take a single woman from my village, I'll kill you… correct?".

"What? What are you talking about?!"

"Don't worry… you'll see what I mean soon enough." Arthur responded, a grin slowly forming on his face .
