The wolves continued to protest against me. The entire kingdom was in chaos while an army of more than fifty thousand soldiers was lingering around the border.

The commoners gathered outside the palace, asking for my departure. However, I couldn't condemn them for this. The wolves had always been skeptical about the vampires. And I hadn't done anything significant to earn their faith.

The vampires broke the contract first. It was certain that Lord Cardis wouldn't make a move without taking me back from the wolf realm. But the wolves were not concerned about facing the inevitable war. They had always lived as a courageous and elegant species. They would not sell their dignity.

"My Lord, you must let go of the lady," the nobles requested. "If you continue to protect her, we will have no choice but to ask for someone more suitable for the Alpha Lord's throne," they said calmly. However, the threat in their voice was apparent.
