Viktor ordered the sirens to halt so commands could be heard more clearly, and upon request, they turned off within seconds.
On the silent queue, Mana ran up Viktor's back as he lowered his shield so she could jump over it, landing only 30 feet from Neya, making eye contact with her demonic glare as she stood just outside Gino's tiny, brick home.
Neya's smile disappeared as she recognized the sudden threat the previous fodder had suddenly become. She looked at the door of Gino's home, and then back at Mana; the woman that should have died.
Suddenly, in only a second's time, Neya was only a few inches from Mana's face, time seemingly slowing as Mana watched Neya's right arm begin to rise, her claws heading straight for her terrified face.
She held her breath, closing her eyes out of fear due to an instantaneous flashback of her sister dying in front of her.
"Mana!" She heard Viktor scream at her, bringing her back to reality as she watched his flail wrap around Neya's leg. He then pulled on his weapon hard, instantly yanking her away, saving her as Neya's claws only grazed Mana's cheek.
As Neya flew towards Viktor from his pull, he put his shield up, bashing Neya's body mid-air causing her to immediately hit the ground with a loud thud. She rose back to her feet almost at the same moment she landed, grabbing Viktor's shield and yanking it down with an immense amount of power, breaking his arm with a loud snap from the force.
Viktor let out a wailing howl, as he fought through the sudden onset of sweat from pain and adrenaline and began to swing his flail as hard as he could to get as much power as possible. Unfortunately, the weight of his shield began to pull at his broken bones and his skin felt like it was about to rip.
He couldn't do it; the pain was too much. It was causing his entire body to lose its strength, and he stopped spinning his weapon.
Viktor fell to his knees in defeat, the pain subsiding slightly as the shield was able to rest against the ground. Neya smiled; even in the afterlife the feeling of victory was euphoric.
She pulled out both of her fans, opening them to revel 100 scales. She began to fan them quickly, a small cloud of green mist beginning to emit from them before making its way around Viktor's body, slowly encasing him.
He felt his throat begin to close as the mist made its way into his mouth and nose. His eyes began to water and bleed as it entered his eyelids. He lowered his head as his chest began to rise and fall quicker; the remaining amount of energy he had being used to just try and breathe.
The others around him refused to attack. Viktor was 75, they were no more than 20; even together they didn't have a chance. They felt helpless.
"Hey, Neya!" Mana yelled as loud as she could, successfully getting the monster's attention. Neya stopped fanning momentarily, giving Viktor enough time to catch a few breaths and remove his shattered arm from the shield and run.
Neya growled as she saw her meal get away, and once again turned her attention to Mana. Only this time, Mana Fujino was ready.
As expected, Neya darted towards her, but Mana, in anticipation, swung one of her hands out hard, managing to make contact with Neya's chest. The spikes on her knuckles sent a shock throughout Neya's body, instantly forcing her to her knees.
Mana threw another punch with her other hand, and upon contact with Neya's face, felt a jolt of energy send a warm shock throughout her own body before the cuts on her face were healed. She smiled; the feeling was like a drug.
Gairma's once loving mother regained her balance quickly, getting back up to her feet once more before raising her fans out on either side of herself. She then swung them both forward with one giant swoop, sending an immensely strong gust of winds towards Mana, allowing her to gain some distance from the new level 100 as she knocked Mana back a few feet.
From only the two hits that Mana gave her, it caused a stream of blood to fall from her dead, gray lips. Despite not having the full capacity of a living human, even she knew the danger that Mana now was to her.
Neya crossed her left arm over her body and faced her palm up towards her right hand. She then closed the fan that was in her right hand and then forcibly shoved it down the palm of her hand and into the bones of her forearm without even a word. Blood splattered from her wound, though she didn't seem to feel pain as her expression stayed the same; stone-faced. As soon as she did that to her left palm, she repeated the same thing to her right palm.
Mana scrunched her nose in disgust, as Neya looked at her in maniacal pleasure.
Neya's claws began to glow green, and Mana finally understood what was going on. Despite being dead, she had registered that her mid-range fight style was not going to work well against Mana, and she was opting to do hand-to-hand combat with her. Though, Neya knew not to handicap herself completely.
"I know you loved your children, Neya," Mana began talking to the monster in front of her, as it stood there unmoving, blood dripping from the wounds on its palms. "And that's probably why you're back here in Koro, your home." Neya's head twitched slightly. "But you can't be here anymore, Neya. If you have any sense of being human in there at all, then you will leave here if you love them." Mana watched as Neya relaxed slightly, seemingly understanding what she was saying.
Neya squinted at Mana, her eyes still red, and only her pupils white. Mana raised her hands in front of her body, prepared to defend herself from her potential attacks.
"Kill!" Neya hissed, catapulting herself towards Mana.
