Bab 29: Rewards

"What is this place?" Jack pondered, his eyes scanning the unfamiliar room that cradled him. The enigma of his surroundings swirled in his mind as he tried to piece together the fragments of his last memory – a nightmarish transformation into a Wight, culminating in the violent demise of Rak and Greeny.

'Damn, when the system warned of losing sanity, I didn't anticipate the descent into madness that led to bloodshed,' Jack reflected. The guilt gnawed at him, yet he understood the provocation stemmed from Mark and his comrades, hell-bent on pilfering the creature Jack intended to vanquish and seizing the crystal.
