Bab 162: Shattered Pieces of Past

Nesrin gasped when her eyes opened.

She faintly recalled the small moments of intimacy. Whatever magic Azenora used had allowed her to be completely immersed in the past. She heard the queen's thoughts, felt her emotions, her fear was and suffered a tormenting agony when everything faded into a hazy night.

It took her eyes a moment to adjust back into reality.

Nesrin glanced at Azenora with confused eyes, "Why did it stop?"

"If you remained there any longer," she said, "returning would have become impossible."

There were many questions at the tip of Nesrin's tongue. She understood little from what she saw and above all her dreads and curiosities, there was something she wanted to know most.

"Izekiel... is he not the son of the late emperor?"

Azenora nodded grimly, "but he had been the best father, as well as a mother when I was not able to be there."
