Chapter 16: "Family Ties and Adventurous Spirits"
As Kai continued to chat with Sophia, his curiosity got the better of him. "Sophia, can I ask you something personal?"
Sophia's expression turned warm and inviting. "Of course, Kai. What's on your mind?"
"Do you have any children?" Kai asked, his eyes filled with genuine interest.
Sophia's face lit up with a proud smile. "Yes, I do! I have two kids. My daughter is 28 years old and married, living with her husband in the Domain of the God of Techno, where they both work as inventors. They're a great team, and I'm so proud of them."
Kai's eyes widened in surprise. "That's amazing! Your daughter is an inventor?"
Sophia nodded, her eyes shining with pride. "Yes, she's very talented. She and her husband are working on some groundbreaking projects. I can't even begin to understand half of what they do, but I know it's important."
Kai chuckled. "I can relate. My brother Zac is always talking about his research and experiments, and I have no idea what he's saying half the time."
Sophia laughed. "I'm sure it's the same with our children. We may not always understand what they do, but we support them every step of the way."
Kai nodded, feeling a sense of connection with Sophia. "Absolutely. Family is everything, isn't it?"
Sophia smiled, her eyes warm. "Yes, it is. And speaking of family, my son is 25 years old and following in his father's footsteps as an adventurer. He's currently on a mission to take down a goblin town in the forest. He should be back soon, and I'd love to introduce him to you."
Kai's mind raced with excitement at the prospect of meeting Sophia's son, a fellow adventurer and potentially a new ally. "I'd like that, Sophia. Thank you for sharing this with me."
