As the mission members were confirmed, the selected group members stepped through the world portal and arrived in the Akame ga Kill world. Just as they appeared, Mine and the others had finished off their enemies. When a middle-aged man holding a katana fell, the Empire's assassination unit was officially destroyed.
"You're here," Eriri smiled as she greeted the six figures who had just arrived.
"It's been a while, Eriri-sama," Rias Gremory greeted her respectfully. Although they frequently chatted in the group, it had been more than half a month since their last face-to-face meeting.
"It's been a while, Rias. I was planning to help you deal with your engagement when I visited your world, but it seems like after this mission, you'll be able to handle it on your own."
"Thank you for your concern, Eriri-sama. I'm already grateful for the thought."
Then, Elaina and Nodoka Haramura greeted the group. Nodoka, dressed in her white school uniform, looked especially adorable today, with her five-kilogram chest particularly eye-catching, while Elaina curiously took in the unfamiliar world.
As for Fubuki, upon seeing Eriri, she couldn't help but exclaim, drawing everyone's attention.
"So cute!"
Realizing the eyes on her, she quickly covered her mouth and flashed a slightly embarrassed smile.
"You're quite beautiful too, Fubuki," Eriri chuckled in response.
Fubuki had short black hair, green eyes, and a very striking face, with fair skin and a figure that didn't lose to even Utaha Kasumigaoka. She wore a dark green long dress, with a pearl necklace at the collar and knee-high black leather boots.
Eriri's friendly words helped Fubuki relax, and she returned a charming smile.
"Thank you for the compliment."
"What exactly were you all up to here?" Arifureta looked around at the wreckage of the assassination unit's base and the trembling group of children, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"This was the Empire's assassination unit headquarters."
"Oh, in that case, never mind."
Their casual exchange left the others, who weren't familiar with the Akame ga Kill storyline, somewhat confused.
At that moment, Mine and her group, having finished cleaning up, returned to Eriri's side. Seeing Arifureta and Shinobu, they excitedly asked, "Arifureta-nee, Shinobu-nee, why are you here?"
Because they were so focused on the battle, Mine hadn't noticed the mission notification in the chat group. As for Akame and Kurome, they had even less idea of what was going on.
Mine then looked at the others present, quickly recognizing them. Over the past few days, in addition to her training, she had gone through the memory images in the chat group, so she had at least some understanding of everyone in the group. However, Rias had previously requested Eriri delete her memory footage, so Mine wasn't familiar with her, and the same went for Luo Hao, who hadn't appeared in the anime.
"Mine, check the chat group, and you'll understand," Arifureta said, patting the heads of the three girls with a smile.
Nodding, Mine quickly accessed the chat group to check, and soon she understood what was going on.
"So it's a group mission? So, should we go find these reincarnators to complete the mission now?"
She then remembered the group of children nearby and couldn't help but ask Eriri, "Sister, what about them?"
Though she had shown no mercy when killing the members of the assassination unit, Mine still felt sympathy for the children who had been sold to the unit.
Of course, the commotion on this side had caught the attention of the children who were always watching Mine and the others. However, since they were too far away, they couldn't hear what Eriri and the others were discussing.
These children were terrified. Even though they had been sold to the assassination unit and were subjected to brutal training every day, they had at least been given food and a place to stay—something that could be called a home, albeit barely. Now that the assassination unit had been destroyed by Mine and her group, the children had lost their home once again, leaving them uncertain about where to go next.
However, not all of them felt this way. A group of young girls, who had previously looked at Akame and Kurome with admiration, exchanged glances before running over to Eriri and the others.
Once they were only a few meters away from Eriri's group, they knelt down.
"Please, we beg of you, take us in," said the eldest of the group, a blonde girl, looking at Eriri with hopeful eyes.
This sight stirred feelings of pity in Eriri and the others, especially in Mine and her companions, who also looked to Eriri with hopeful expressions.
Smiling, Eriri reassured the three girls, then stepped forward and addressed the kneeling children.
"You can stand up. Don't worry, we won't just leave you behind."
Hearing this, the group of girls let out a sigh of relief, their faces lighting up with joy.
"Thank you so much!"
Arifureta and the others approached as well, helping the girls to their feet one by one.
Through conversation, Eriri's group learned the names of the girls. The eldest blonde girl was named Cornelia, and she seemed very calm and composed. The others were named Poney, Tsukushi, Remus, and Gin.
They were the same girls who had been recruited alongside Akame and Kurome in the original story, but they had only been at the assassination unit for a few days and hadn't yet undergone the brainwashing that would turn them into the Empire's loyal tools.
Thanks to Cornelia's leadership, the other frightened children began to calm down, though they still looked at Mine's group with fear. The earlier slaughter had left a deep impression on the young ones—perhaps even a psychological scar.
Eriri had already decided how to handle these children. She wasn't planning to take them to another world but would instead establish an orphanage in a nearby town in this world to house them. She would also select a few qualified caretakers from this world to educate and take care of the children until they were old enough to work. After that, their futures would be up to them.
This was the best support Eriri could offer.
Arifureta and the others had no objections to Eriri's plan. If it were up to them, they wouldn't have handled things any differently.
As for the reincarnators, there was no rush. Everything was under Eriri's control, and she had already sealed off this planet, just as she had done when dealing with the Villains Chat Group earlier.
So, if the shards of the Lord God truly only had the power of an ordinary Mid-Level system, even if the reincarnators completed their mission, they would have no way to escape the Akame ga Kill world.
...
On the other side of the world, within the Imperial Palace in the capital.
Eight men and women dressed in various outfits were chatting and laughing inside the grand hall of the palace. The one with the strongest presence, a young man, sat arrogantly on the throne, his legs crossed as he exuded an air of defiance.
The other three men and four women stood around the throne, forming a circle around the young man like stars around the moon.
"Hehe, Captain, looks like we hit the jackpot this time. We've landed in a Low to Mid-Tier world. With your strength, you're invincible here."
"Yeah, this mission's a piece of cake. Just kill a few 'Children of Fate' before they grow up. Easy."
"The reward for this mission isn't bad either. Once we complete it, I'll be able to upgrade my skills and equipment. Then I'll finally confess to that girl I've had my eye on!"
"…"
These men and women chatted nonchalantly, though it was mostly the more experienced members who spoke—those who had been through one or two cycles in the Reincarnation Space.
Meanwhile, the young man sitting on the throne—who also happened to be the captain—didn't say a word, maintaining a calm smile on his face, exuding an aura of superiority.
However, on the other side, as she watched this so-called captain, Eriri silently muttered two words in her mind: "What an idiot."
Back in the palace, aside from the group's chatter, two newcomers—one a teenage boy and the other a teenage girl—stood quietly on the sidelines, looking nervous. These two had clearly just joined the Reincarnation Space, still dressed like typical high school delinquents.
When they had first been selected to join the Reincarnation Space, they had been ecstatic, thinking they were destined for greatness. But reality had slapped them hard.
When they had joined this reincarnator team, there were two other newcomers with them. But before they could even try to act tough, those two had been the first to cause trouble, and their fates had been brutal—being dismembered by the veteran members.
The sight of blood had shocked the two remaining delinquents into submission, scaring them so badly that they had thrown up everything they had eaten earlier.
Since then, they had played the part of cowards, sucking up to the veteran members and barely clinging to their lives.
During this time, they had learned the rules of the Reincarnation Space. If they could survive their first world mission, they would have the potential to grow stronger. If not, well, nothing else mattered.
Initially, they had been worried about the difficulty of this first mission. But after hearing the veteran members' conversation, they breathed a sigh of relief.
They knew that once they survived their first mission, they could use their reincarnation points to purchase information about the next world, significantly increasing their chances of success.
Since these seasoned veterans had read the plot and said the mission was easy, they felt reassured. As long as they clung to the veterans, they would be fine.
Yeah, there was nothing to be afraid of anymore!
...
"Honorable guests, I have had a grand meal prepared. Would you prefer to dine in the banquet hall or...?"
A portly, white-haired middle-aged man rubbed his hands together obsequiously as he looked at the group of reincarnators. However, his cunning nature was evident in his demeanor.
"Who cares about a banquet hall? Go and have the food brought to the throne room," said a long-haired female reincarnator standing next to the throne, addressing the middle-aged man, who was none other than the future minister, Honest.
"As you command," Honest responded without hesitation, his face plastered with a fawning smile as he waddled toward the kitchen.
Though he didn't particularly like this arrogant group of reincarnators, he hadn't shown it. After all, their appearance had helped him greatly. The current emperor had been killed by these people, accomplishing something Honest had long been planning to do.
Honest had been plotting for years to eliminate the emperor and seize power by manipulating a member of the royal family. Now, with the emperor dead and both the minister and General Budo slain by the reincarnators, nothing stood in his way. Imperial power was practically his for the taking.
More importantly, these reincarnators had made him a crucial promise: they would help him gain control of the Supreme Teigu, replacing the royal family as the Empire's ruler.
Honest believed them because one of the reincarnators had already easily taken control of the Supreme Teigu. As everyone knew, only those with royal blood could use it, but this reincarnator clearly wasn't from the royal family. That alone convinced Honest that they could help him seize it.
Whether or not they would ultimately hand it over was beyond Honest's control. After all, he understood that the weak had no say in matters of power.
However, Honest knew what the reincarnators wanted and had already ordered his men to search several towns in the Empire for a few specific children, per their request.
As long as these mysterious reincarnators didn't compete with him for power, he stood to gain everything!
