Me and the Two Displacer Beasts had parted ways not long ago. As I made my way to the portal. To my freedom. And I would fight anything in my way. I believe I am about 19 years old now. my Black mage cloak and my Abyssal Axe in hand I walked.
I walked a lot before my first encounter with anything. And of course it has to be Shadow Hobgoblins.
It seemed like they were doing some sort of patrol when they noticed me. Slightly bigger then the Shadow gobins and a lot stronger. Their bodies wore heavy full body metal armor. And their shields imbued with Abyssal energy. Their short swords jagged on one side of the blade yet clearly sharp.
They their metal boots pounding against the Void. And they stopped and turned in formation as their shields were almost as big as they were, reaching from the ground to their chins.
"Of course it had to be you guys." I said as I spin the axe in my hand ready.
They instantly charged towards me. Slow because of the srmor and sheilds. But very well protected. And outrunning them was a option but not a good one considering they would just chase me and eventually let loose horns to alert more.
"Come at me metal freaks!" I shouted and and slammed my axe in a cross slash that hit slashed against three of their shields pushing them back slightly as more came around me.
«Shadow Shockwave»
A wave of black energy exploded from me and sent them all off balance sending them in all directions as my axe caught two of them under their helmet between the gaps as they feel down dying.
I turned quick to my right arm raised with axe bringing it down onto another one that was about to slash into with it's sword.
«Activate Weapon Ability, Blunt Strike»
The Axe came down faster and slammed fully and hard enough through the helmet killing the Hobgoblin as I flipped over pulling the axe out striking another one as my feet kicked against a shield as well.
My cloak flapping against my movement.
«Ghost Step»
I had learned to control this spell as I went from where I was to behind another Hobgoblin at the edge of all the fights slashing into it's neck where the armor has a gap.
I picked up the axe it had. The same as my own. I had gotten both from Hobgoblins and now I had two of this Abyssal Axes. One in each hand.
After another minute went by I noticed they were all dead as their bodies became part of the void becoming nothing. Their armor still there however in clumps.
"Damn that was exhausting." I said catching my breath.
But I continued to walk. I fight another two groups of Shadow Hobgoblins both far smaller. A few Shadow Goblins.
It was kind of impressive how many of them were here. But as I kept walked among this endless darkness towards the grey light I was now entering were the grey light lit everyong. Just open space. And ahead was a pack of Shadow Wolves. Their forms made of solid shape that whipped around in all directions like smoke.
Their red caught me and they ran towards me at amazing speed.
"No armor. This should be easier." I said as I slashed through ones head as it jumped for me and spun to my right slamming my second ace into another.
Dislodging both Abyssal Axes quickly as I barely moved in time before having my head bitten off as one jump past where I was standing as second ago.
«Lightining Chains»
Two chains made of lightining extended from my arms as they found their targets chasing and wrapping around me. Killing the shadow wolves as the spell ended only one was left and it was running.
I began walking again towards the grey lights middle. I was wondering why everything wasn't as strong as I expected when a loud roar pierced my ears. It was defeaning. Filled with anger and age. As I felt a sudden burst of wind slam into my throwing me off my feet and onto the ground as I rolled to a stop.
"Ow." I was trying to get up when I saw what had done it.
A dragon. A Shadow dragon even though young wasn't what I wanted to deal with.
"No way am I fighting that thing."
«Electro Step»
My feet had Lightining shock off them and I bolted away. Within seconds I had traveled far faster but my mana had run out.
I smiled as I saw the grey dot of light. It was right there. And I jump into it as my body felt like it had gone through Volcano and melted around just to be put back together in a solid form as I fell into hard red rock.
Raise my head up I saw trees made of ash for around. Cliffs of this same red rock. And it smelled of death here. My eyes scanned around to see a fort of some kind a few miles away.
"Damn guess this is hell."
The story hasn't even truly begun yet. but it will soon. I can't wait for it. But I don't want to rush this. I good beginning will lead to a good story as long I don't rush the story.
