POV Tony Stark
The weight of Vega's sacrifice pressed heavily on my shoulders, I needed to be better so that the sacrifices that were made meant something. Who ever lent Loki that army would be back, I know it I can feel it in my gut and I will be ready.
While thinking that my fingers tapped rhythmically on the glass of a holographic display, the image of Vega's iconic emblem flickering before my eyes. I was obsessed, consumed by the information on the screen. Next to his emblem was the most complex DNA strand I have ever seen.
In secret, I had acquired samples of Vega's DNA from shield when I hacked the Helicarrier. From the looks of them they were samples of hair follicles, they couldn't get any other DNA off of him. He didn't bleed, he didn't sweat and if I am understanding a fraction of this DNA. Vega doesn't even need to eat or sleep biologically
Vega cells where completely powered by solar energy, he was a living breathing solar battery. My mind raced with possibilities, fueled by a mixture of determination and desperation. I had always believed that technology could solve any problem, but Vega's powers were far beyond anything I had encountered before.
As I delved deeper into the research, as I understood more. For some dam reason it made less sense, it was like something was actively stopping me from understanding is DNA at a fundamental level.
In frustration I asked, "Jarvis, I need your help with this. We're dealing with something beyond our current understanding here."
"Certainly, sir," Jarvis replied, his soothing artificial voice resonating within the lab. "Analyzing Vega's DNA for potential patterns or anomalies."
"I've been at this all night, Jarvis. It's like trying to solve a puzzle without any edges." Frustration was evident in my voice as I continued to manipulate the holographic strands.
"I understand your frustration, sir," Jarvis responded. "However, I must inform you that despite my advanced capabilities, Vega's DNA remains a complete mystery to me. There are no discernible patterns or sequences that correlate with known genetic structures."
I leaned back in my chair, running a hand through my hair. "So, we're at a dead end? I can't accept that."
"Based on the data I have analyzed, it appears that Vega's DNA exhibits properties consistent with the absorption and storage of solar energy. It's as if his cells are designed to function as a highly efficient energy repository," Jarvis explained.
"That much I've gathered," I say in exasperation.
"Furthermore, when compared to the Asgardian DNA sample we obtained from Thor, Vega's DNA displays a level of complexity that defies conventional understanding. It is a thousand times more intricate than that of a god, which is, by all accounts, illogical," Jarvis continued.
I rubbed my temples,my mind racing with possibilities. "Illogical, huh? So there is no hope with our current capabilities to even understanding how his powers work?"
"Indeed, sir. It appears that Vega's genetic makeup transcends our current understanding of biology and physics. Without additional data or breakthroughs in our understanding of cosmic phenomena, deciphering the full extent of Vega's genetic potential may remain beyond our reach," Jarvis concluded.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, my gaze fixed on the holographic displays. "Guess we're back to square one then. But I'm not giving up. Call Banner we are going to need his expertise.
"Agreed, sir. Calling Dr Banner now, while waiting for Dr Banner. I will continue to analyze the data and explore any potential avenues for further understanding. Perhaps with time and continued research, we may uncover new insights into the mysteries of Vega's DNA," Jarvis assured.
"After that Jarvis, I need you to do something else for me," my voice carried a sense of urgency as I leaned forward in the chair.
"Of course, sir. What can I assist you with?" Jarvis responded promptly.
"I need you to hack into all databases that have Vega's DNA on file, whether it's S.H.I.E.L.D., our own, or any other organization that has even a snippet of his genetic data. Corrupt those files, delete them, do whatever it takes to erase any trace of his DNA," I instructed.
"Understood, sir. However, I must advise you that hacking into classified databases and tampering with their contents may result in severe consequences," Jarvis warned.
Waving my hand dismissively. "We're beyond worrying about consequences now, Jarvis. If someone gets hold of Vega's DNA, they could have a power source beyond anything we've ever seen. We can't let that happen."
"Very well, sir. I will proceed with the task as you've instructed. Additionally, I will secure all of your research related to Vega's DNA in a backup off-grid system, ensuring that the information remains inaccessible to unauthorized parties," Jarvis assured.
"Good. I don't want anyone getting their hands on this unless we can fully understand its implications," I said firmly.
"Understood, sir. I will take all necessary precautions to safeguard the information," Jarvis said.
With a sigh, I deactivated the holographic display and leaned back in my chair, my fingers steepled as I contemplated the path ahead. Vega's presence left earth without a champion.
