Bab 16: Chapter 15 - And they lived happily ever after...?

Balderdash. There is no "happily ever after."

But when you are young and in love, you imagine there is. All is right with your world and you cannot, even in your worst nightmares, imagine that things could go so very wrong.

But for three years, I lived my dream. I was happy. Too happy, perhaps.

Firdaus recovered quite quickly after we were back in Mumbai. I visited him every single day till he got off his crutches – often with Nirvesh in tow.

Raina, who had thrown a massive fit in London, had gone back to being friendly with me.

As for me, I couldn't care much either way. I was too much in love to care about anyone or anything except Firdaus.

I completed my graduation top of my class, quite pleased with myself – and even managed to secure a job in Mumbai. Firdaus threw a grand party to celebrate, and proposed marriage as we walked down the road to the Gateway of India. This time, he did go down on his knees.
