Bab 212: Fighting for both of us [Bonus chapter]

Édouard finally came to the chamber, where he found Charlotte and Damien together. Seeing him, Damien decided to leave but Édouard stopped him.

"Thank you for staying with Charlotte," Édouard said. Damien smiled at him and asked him if everything went well. Charlotte also gazed at her husband with curiosity.

"It did go well. Matilda will give me an answer tomorrow morning," Édouard replied.

"Answer to?" Charlotte queried.

"The decision to take a step back from the marriage," Édouard answered.

Damien was surprised to hear that. He was delighted to know Édouard took the conversation to a level where Matilda finally decided to have a deep contemplation.

Charlotte, on the other hand, was doubtful. Earlier, she trusted Matilda. She thought after she knelt before Matilda, she let go of Édouard from her head. But that did not happen. Instead, Matilda used her father to declare war if Édouard would not marry her.
