Bab 417: A deep-rooted evil

"Where do you have to go tomorrow?" Charlotte asked as he informed her about his sudden work outside the palace.

"I'm going to the town adjacent to the capital, Charlotte. I will return in the evening," Édouard said. He didn't want her to ask more questions since he wished not to lie more to her.

"Which town?" Charlotte asked.

"Emberfall," Édouard replied.

"Oh, Emberfall isn't too distant from the capital," Charlotte remarked and then inquired if Rainard would be accompanying him on his journey.

"No, I'll be traveling with Ramiro this time. Rainard needs to concentrate on his own life; there's something troubling him," Édouard confessed and proceeded to reveal Rainard's unrequited love for Tove and the challenges it brought.
