He could sense her discomfort as she sat beside him at the dining table. He believed deep inside she was ready to bolt at any sign that she was in trouble.
But she still gave a brave front before him despite the earlier incident with his grandson. The fight in her was so admirable, and the determination on her face to keep her head high was commendable.
At that moment, he saw her mother and father in her.
"I know this is not my business. But I am here to support whatever you and my grandson decide." The Count extended his hand on the table, tapping her hand for reassurance. "But I do not mind having you around."
Any father would be proud to have a daughter like her. He would be happy to have her join his family even if she had been a commoner, just like she and everyone thought.
