Hearing Eida confirm everything he had learned and more about his father was like a knife eviscerating his guts. He felt he wanted to be sick. He could not accept what his father had done. 

All this time, his father orchestrated this grand master plan to ruin his life all because of his ambitions to return the crown to their family and rule the Kingdom. 

He did not mind if his father only destroyed his life. But how could he forgive his father for the countless lives affected by his selfish act?

"I am sorry, Eida, for putting you and our daughter in this situation. I don't know if you will ever forgive me, but I still wish to ask for your forgiveness." Lance had finally realized his terrible mistake.

He should have listened to his heart when it kept telling him that Eida could never hurt him. Instead, he let logic guide him to a destructive path until it poisoned all his reasoning.
