“Hold me, Dan.” The fae locking him in her gaze covered the remaining distance between them and wrapped her arms around him, carefully caressing his unruly hair.

He leaned in and closed his eyes, relaxing into her and holding her tightly. Bella. He had his Bella. Absentmindedly, he ran his fingers through her soft, curly locks.

“Do you like my hair?” she whispered in his ear.

He sighed with pleasure. “Mhmm.”

“I can make it however you like. Long, short. Just tell me, and it’s done.”

Realization shot through his spine, and he stiffened. Long. “Long,” he mumbled, slowly reopening his eyes.

“Longer than this?”

“Let me show you,” he said, and she flinched in confusion. Danny carefully ran his hands through the hair until they were caught in a golden web. “Like this!” He yanked down, snapping the fae’s neck in an instant.
