Bab 124: • Trust Amongst Friends

Cerene had been staring at the roast game meat for more than minutes at this point, her mind elsewhere. She could not take away the images of the Gallied Mountains flashing in her mind.

As she had always wanted, the team was back together but even though everyone was trying to act otherwise, Cerene knew it felt different — everyone felt different.

She finally took her eyes off the meat and gazed at her companions one by one.

Nero, unlike his usual self, was very somber. He didn't even look at anyone and continued eating his meal in silence. Akemi was sitting beside him, just as quiet and gingerly chewing on her Cranebird meat.

Thorin had this look on his face, like he was thinking, planning. It was just like Thorin. He was always brainstorming an idea, thinking of ways to solve an issue.

And as for Linne, well she was laying on the ground, also in silence. She still had Spheris's scarf wrapped over her shoulders, and in her eyes were silent words.
