The carriage rocked steadily through the shifting sands of the desert. Thin curtains hung over the windows, filtering the blinding sunlight but doing little to keep out the heat. The rhythmic thuds of the camel's hooves filled the air, an almost hypnotic counterpoint to the stillness inside the cabin.

Yunnie sat silently, beads of sweat trailing down his flushed cheeks. He was too deep in thought to notice the discomfort. Disbelief lingered in his eyes, replaying the events of the morning over and over again in his mind.

"I… I really convinced her!" he thought, his astonishment mixing with the faintest hint of pride. It felt like a dream—or perhaps a bad joke—one he couldn't stop laughing at internally.

Seon's expression was flat, her sharp eyes unwavering as they pinned Yunnie in place. "And what, exactly, are you doing here?" she asked, her voice as neutral as her gaze.
