"Ugh!"
Okami opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the brown ceiling. He tilted his face to the right and noticed the ornamental plant which was placed beside the door. "It seems that I am inside a room. I wonder where I am right now."
He sat down and chuckled when he saw that he was still wearing his favorite black shorts and white shirt. He traced his hands on his face, surprised that it felt the same when he was back in the Naruto world. "Same old body. Same old clothes."
Okami took off the bed and stood up. When he was sure that everything was alright, he cautiously reached for the door and pressed his head against the wall. He could hear several waves of laughter from outside the room. "I am pretty excited to find out what world I am in right now. It's time for an investigation."
He opened the door and the loud noises became clearer and more audible. The more he listened to their conversations, the more his expression became brighter.
"Let's drink up and celebrate! To Luffy's craziness and our greatness!"
"Yo! Cut it out! To brawl while you're drunk is so shameful!"
Luffy? Okami did not want to assume but his suspicions were getting bigger as he heard the childish voice shouting, "I'm not afraid of pain at all! Next time, bring me out to the sea! I wanna be a pirate too!"
"You can't handle being a pirate! Not being able to swim is a pirate's greatest weakness! Bwahaha!"
Okami realized that he was inside the world of One Piece, and if his memory served him right, the child shouting earlier was the main protagonist of this world, Monkey D. Luffy. His heartbeat thumped faster as he hurried his steps and soon saw the messy bar filled with several middle-aged men.
The red-haired guy wanted to reprimand the kid when he noticed Okami standing at the narrow hallway. "Hey, Makino. Look, the stowaway is finally awake."
Okami doubted if he was the stowaway he was referring to. When he observed that everyone was looking at him, he was sure that he was the stowaway.
The black-haired Makino grinned as she stared at the young man. "Yeah, captain. Anyway, welcome to the Partys Bar, stranger."
Okami scratched his head while walking towards the counter. "Thanks. Uh, can anybody explain where am I right now?"
Before the two could reply, Luffy suddenly pointed at him and said, "Are you a pirate just like Shanks? Nah, I doubt it. You dressed like old Gyoru!"
Even though he knew the main plots of One Piece but he was not familiar with all the characters because they were damn too many. "Eh, who's Gyoru?"
The one who answered him this time was Makino. "He's the one running the fish shop together with his wife, Chicken. Anyway, you looked better today compared to the first time when I saw you yesterday. What happened to you?"
"I don't know, something's blocking my mind from remembering the exact thing that happened to me. The only thing I can recall is my name. I'm Okami Okaya." Okami made up his mind to lie about his background.
"Aah! That hit the spot." Shanks drank another cup of sake and wiped his mouth. "I'm Shanks. Well, it looks like you're not a pirate."
Okami remembered the things that he could use to help others and nodded. "I'm a merchant and a potion master at the same time. As well as a Pokemon Trainer."
Shanks gave him a curious look. "What's a Pokemon Trainer? And a potion master?"
"I make bottled medicines that can heal people, those kinds of stuff. I'm still too tired to exert effort so I can't show you about Pokemon training, sorry."
"It's okay. With regards to your potion-making skills, that's a good thing. I'd like to buy one right now but I don't have any Beli with me," Shanks replied and took another drink. "At least you were not eaten alive by the Lord of the Coast when you were drifting alone in the sea while unconscious."
"Hah! That oversized brown eel with red eyes and blue fins?! I can easily destroy it! I've been trained before and my punch is as strong as pistol fire!" Luffy flexed his arms as he cackled like a villain. "Hey, take me to the sea! I wanna be a pirate, Shanks!"
Shanks shook his head. "Nah! You're still too young. Maybe when you can learn how to swim, then I will allow you to join my ship."
A fat guy with a green T-shirt and a bandanna on his head munched on a rack of meat while shouting, "Hey, Luffy! It's great if you can become a pirate. The sea is wide and deep and you can go to any islands and seek adventure."
Shanks glared at him when he noticed Luffy's reaction. "Stop giving him some dumb ideas, Lucky Roo!"
"But it ain't the truth, right?"
One of the men beside Lucky Roo nodded as he raised his mug. "True!"
"YEAH!" Luffy shouted and joined the rest of them as they bickered with each other.
Shanks chuckled and shifted his attention back to Okami. "Now, kid. Can you remember anything aside from your name?"
"Nope. I don't know anything about myself," Okami grumbled as he took a seat beside Shanks. "I guess you're a pirate."
Shanks smiled. "Yes. But we're not the type who robs and plunders villages."
"That's good to hear. Anyway, can you tell me where the heck am I?"
"You're at the little port town called the Foosha Village, currently governed by Mr. Wood Slap, the mayor," Makino replied as she refilled Shank's mug with sake and gave Okami a platter of chocolate cake. "It's located on Dawn Island and is part of the Goa Kingdom. Rings a bell to you?"
Okami shook his head even though he knew what she was referring to. "How I wish I know where I'm from or what happened to me."
Shanks patted his shoulders. "Your memory will soon return to you. Just relax and take good care of your health."
Okami shrugged. "I guess that's the only thing I can do."
Shank smiled and looked at Makino. "Well, it's been almost a year since we used this town as our base. I plan on setting a sail a couple more times then we'll leave this town and head north. I guess -."
He stopped talking when he heard the loud sound of someone kicking against the saloon doors.
"Excuse me!" The dark-skinned man with a goatee on his chin entered the bar and scanned the room. "So, this is what pirates look like, huh? This is the first time I've seen pirates. They look pretty dumb to me."
Okami saw him and his lackeys approaching the counter and moved back to give way to him.
"Coward!" The man spat at Okami when he noticed his reaction. He then tapped his fingers on the countertop, stared at Makino, and continued, "Anyway, I'm Higuma and we're bandits. We're not here to cause any trouble. We just wanna buy 10 barrels of sake."
Makino's face was covered with sweat. "Um, but we are out of sake. I'm afraid we can't give you anything."
Higuma snickered as he tilted his face slightly. "That's strange. Then what are they drinking? Is it water?"
Shanks grinned and offered his bottle of sake. "I'm sorry. Looks like we've finished all the sake here. Come, take this, it's yours."
Makino gasped when she saw Higuma hitting the bottle, splattering all of its contents on Shank's body. "Captain..."
Higuma's lackeys laughed loudly while Higuma looked at Shanks in disdain. "Just who do you think I am? Don't take me lightly. One bottle is not enough."
He then pulled out a wanted poster and continued, "See this. My head is worth 8 million Beli. I'm one of the prime fugitives here and I've killed 56 people before, you cocky bastard! Now that you know who I am, don't mess with us again. After all, mountain bandits and sea pirates don't mingle well."
Shanks stooped down and picked up all the glass pieces. "Sorry, Makino. Do you have a mop? I'll clean the floor."
Makino waved her hands. "No! Don't, captain. I can do it."
Higuma snickered and proceeded to shatter the remaining bottles on the countertop with his sword. "Well, it seems like you enjoy cleaning. Now, you can enjoy doing it more. Bunch of chickens."
Higuma and the rest of his gang exited the bar as they cackled along the way.
Lucky Roo and the rest of Shank's crew eyed their captain seriously before laughing out loud.
"Hahaha! Our captain looked silly."
"He fixed you up good, Captain!"
Shanks exhaled deeply before laughing boisterously like he was not the one who has been humiliated.
Luffy clenched his fists as he approached Shanks and shouted on his face, "Why are you laughing?! That was disgraceful! Why did you not fight him?! So what if they have more people?! Who laughs after getting picked on?! You're not a man and you're not a pirate either!"
"But it's just a bottle of sake. There's nothing to get worked about," Shanks refuted.
Luffy turned around and leave. "I don't wanna see you again, coward!"
Shanks grinned sheepishly as he grabbed Luffy's left hand. "Aw, don't go, Luffy."
Okami looked at the scene just like how he was watching the anime. He snickered when he saw everyone's shocked faces when Luffy's arm stretched out.
Makino noticed this and approached him. "Why are you smiling, Okami?"
Okami smiled. "I just found it amusing. Everyone has a harmonious relationship with each other."
Makino giggled when she saw how Luffy and Shanks argued against each other. "Correct. Anyway, do you have a place to stay?"
Okami shook his head. "I don't know anyone here. Can I stay at the bar temporarily? I'll pay after I can make some Beli."
"You may do so. How about 50 Beli per day?"
"Sure. Uhm, may I pay you when I have money?"
"No problem."
Shank's crew started exiting the place and Luffy joined them outside. The only ones who remained inside the bar were Okami, Makino, and Shanks.
Shanks approached them and wiped his hat dry. "Sorry for the mess, Makino."
"Don't worry, Captain," Makino replied.
Okami interrupted their conversation. "You were talking about the Devil Fruit back then...was that the Gum-Gum Fruit that Luffy had eaten?"
"Yes, Okami. I don't know how that brat took the fruit without our notice but hey, maybe it's his fate." Shanks turned around and left the area as he waved his right hand. "Prepare some of your potion thingies for me, Okami. I'd like to see your merchandise when I return. See you."
Makino then gestured Okami to follow her. They walked towards the familiar room and said, "This will be your room, Okami."
Okami grinned. "This is a good place to stay, Makino."
"Good to hear that from you. I still have to clean the mess they made."
"Okay."
Makino returned to the counter to resume her duties.
Okami locked the door and sat on the bed. "It's time to check what's new in the Pokemon App."
The 2nd chapter for today since I've got some spare time to write an extra chapter. XD
