Elsie's POV
"No, it's not like that. I'm just… awkward every time I see them." I stroked the nape of my neck with my cold palm.
Jace laughed again. "Calm down. They are not at home. There's no one in the house."
My lips moved again into a crooked smile. "So when did you come here?"
"I'm already in front of your house."
My eyes widen at the sound of a horn from below. Immediately I rushed to the window, pulled back the curtains and saw his car parked in front of the house. I pursed my lips in a line. It was only then that I realized that the phone was still connected.
"Come down, Els."
"Oh yes. Wait for me." I grabbed my bag, put on my jacket, put on my shoes, then sprinted down the stairs two at a time.
A maid opened the door for me, giving me an opening as I dashed out. Glancing around, I grabbed Jace's car door, opened it, and went inside. There doesn't seem to be anyone in this house.
