Bab 108: The weight of treason

Nathanael's pov:

Rosemary grants me one last look before disappearing inside the building, leaving me rooted where I, here, stand. No reason in particular keeps me posted in this spot other than to stare at the construction before me. I suppose part of me wasn't ready for the conversation between us to end. That same part wanted the conversation to end on a different note, perhaps? 

I turn to my left, and then to my right, catching sight of the very few individuals walking down this street at this time.

My feet finally agree to move, but I choose not to jump onto the nearest rooftop. Instead, I, as well, walk the street among the town's people. 

I'd never been the biggest enthusiast about this place, but I have to admit, this feels oddly peaceful.

Listening to the crunching sounds beneath my feet that no mere human would be able to hear considering the newly formed layer of snow is still too thin for that to be possible.
