Bab 38: Chapter 38: New Home

Frances couldn't believe what the director had said to her. She was happy to have re-obtained the major role. However, even with how villainous Charlotte turned out to be, Frances could never see her having done such a thing. She accepted the role with glee and departed. Stephen witnessed her appearance, flew around the corner, and waited for her arrival.

"Hey, so how'd it all go?" asked Stephen.

"Very... unexpected," said Frances as she was still struggling to process everything."

Stephen was shocked by this and felt dismay. "What... What do you mean by that? You... you didn't end up getting the role?"

"Oh, no I did. It's not that," said Frances. She grabbed his hand. "It's what turned out to be the reason why I never got the role in the first place."

Stephen squinted his eyes and pulled his head back in confusion. "What exactly was the cause darling?"
