Ava blinked. She didn't know how to process everything.

Right now, she was confused. What should she feel?

Surprise? Scared? Both?

She should feel both right?

But instead, the first thing that came into her mind is wondering if Matthew knew what she really was.

Is that the reason why he abruptly left?

Because he wanted her to know but didn't have the heart to tell her?

At the thought of that, she suddenly feels sad, and betrayed.

But then again, Matthew didn't really owe her anything, right? She wasn't entitled to have anything from him.

Again, she thought about the status of their relationship. Right. Mates.

Whatever the hell that means.

"I believe I should leave," Ava said. She could sense the people outside of the house and their anxiety.

That and the information that she had learned just now were a little too much.
