"Nope." Sanhu tapped Gu Nian's nose. "Alright, I'll go and help mother start the fire. You should go and wash your hands as well. It's time for dinner."
However, Gu Nian laughed.
She did not fool by Xiaohu's noisiness and Sanhu's honest appearance.
In fact, she had seen it clearly during this period. Usually, it was Sanhu who gave ideas behind the scenes, and Xiaohu was the one who took the blame when something happened.

"How much work can we expect from a few little kids?" Lin Sanshui began to complain to Mrs. Jiang. "It's all your fault. I said that we should plant grains. Why did you have to plant cotton? The cotton hasn't even borne fruit yet, and the insects have almost eaten it all!"
"How dare you blame me. Our eldest son is coming of age. We should prepare the blanket before he gets married."
As for the dowry, it was something that only rich people had.
In a poor family, it was already a luxury for the maiden's family to give two boxes for the bed and blanket as a betrothal gift. Some heartless parents accepted the betrothal gift and sent their daughters away empty-handed.
Lin Sanshui couldn't win an argument against Mrs. Jiang, so he shut his mouth in embarrassment.
"Father, can you do me a favor and cut off the tail parts of the river snails? I can't cut them myself." Gu Nian took the opportunity to pull Lin Sanshui to the bucket with the river snail and said pitifully.
Lin Sanshui squatted down. "Alright, but if it doesn't taste, you'll have to be responsible for picking out all the meat and feeding it to the chickens."
"Alright. Thank you, Father." Gu Nian called out sweetly. Her eyes were big and bright as she smiled brightly.
Some people's smiles had a natural healing function.
Lin Sanshui instantly felt full of energy. His fatigue from working in the fields for the entire day faded.
