Bab 11: Chapter 9: Taking the first step into cultivation
Ray took another look at his surroundings. What greeted him was only silence. There wasn't a single life form or single movement. From time to time a part of the ruin's structure was coming off from the already destroyed buildings due to enduring the sharp contrast between day and night, day after day. But the sound of the ruin hitting the ground wasn't that particular because there was no air medium to carry it. The only carrier, the mana particles did the work of transferring sound and light. But compared to the air medium it was too dense that the light and sound was half absorbed by the medium itself before releasing them. So the sound was less and the light was less too even if the sun is shining brightly above your head.
The shining sphere of Ray was floating in the sky maintaining quite a distance from the ground. So he didn't have to worry about being buried under the ruins while going into deep slumber for five long years.
Ray took a deep breath and calmed himself. He slowly closed his eyes and tried to feel the mana particles in the surroundings as described in the cultivation method. At first he felt nothing but darkness. Ray concentrated more intensely. After a few moments he saw countless bright, tiny and warm shining golden particles in the darkness. After looking closely Ray discovered that besides the shining white particles there were countless tiny cold and dark particles in between the golden particles. They were pure black even surpassing the darkness. 'They are most probably the light and dark mana particles.' Ray thought.
Ray tried to attract equal amount of light and dark mana particles towards his body. But the mana particles were like unruled little children and rushed towards him without any order. Ray was caught of guard. But he instantly composed himself and hurriedly dispersed the mana particles.
' It will take some time. I have to make it fast' Ray sighed. But he continued to practice his control over the mana particles with immense concentration. If someone saw Ray right now they would want to beat him up. Usually it took half a month just to feel mana in the air even for a genius and to control mana another half month was wasted. So for Ray to say he would make it even faster when he already did it in less than ten minutes, he could be considered a monster in this aspect.
At his Seventh try Ray successfully attracted equal amount of light and dark mana particles towards his body. The first step was complete. Now the second step.
In average humans there were six mana veins whether he was a mage or a fighter. But in case of Ray there were double- that's right, twelve veins. As if he was created this way to cultivate his two completely opposite attributes.
Ray divided his mana veins into two parts. Six for light attribute and six for dark attribute. He carefully guided the light and dark mana particles through the mana veins. The light mana particles smoothly went through the six mana veins to reach the heart. Similarly dark mana particles went through the other six mana veins, then circulated through out the body and reached the lower dantian to complete a circle. Ray continued the same process with unimaginable concentration until he reached a meditative state. The mana particles surrounded him like a cluster to give him assistance but he controlled them with such a precision that would make even a veteran mage to drop their jaws.
So outside the shining sphere there was a peculiar sight to behold. Half of it's area was shining brightly and the other half was frighteningly dark, giving an optical illusion to the eye. Ray was also glowing with a bright golden and dark hue.
Ray was greedily sucking the mana particles as if to satisfy his hunger instead of food. At night, when there was no light mana Ray sucked the dark mana but didn't guide it towards his dantian due to the fear of imbalance with his heart core. Instead he sucked the dark mana inside his every cells and integrated it with his tender muscles and immature bones to make them strong. Yes, at night he did the body cultivation.
Ray's body was only that of a newborn's. So to begin with there wasn't any impurities. The integration of mana with body went very smoothly without any pain. At day Ray would continue his mana cultivation. With his high mana attributes and inhuman control of mana he broke through the first stage of both mage and fighter at the same moment without any accident in the second day of starting cultivation.
The first stage- the apprentice realm. In the dantian of Ray was a tiny little dark magic essence floating silently with a aggressive dark hue and a slight tint of red around it and around his heart there was a transparent golden crystal core covering it. But Ray didn't stop from starting to finishing of the break through of a stage. He floated inside the sphere and continued his cultivation through out the day and night without any stop. Like a sage he was in a deep slumber. Not a single worldly affairs could woke up him from his slumber until he reached his goal.
Time flew by. In the blink of the eye five years passed away.
