Bab 9: The Heartless Sweet Princess
After Taiyang found out that he is the youngest prince, he got confused and asked, "If I'm the youngest Prince, then who is Princess Yǐ sī tiē?"
Instead of answering them, Xiexie just smiled and told his men to put him in prison. Taiyang became silent and was wondering what was happening while in confusion.
Later on, Princess Yǐ sī tiē went to the prison to visit him and looked at him. While looking the Taiyang, she noticed that she's crying, wondering why she is sad and why her heart is aching. "Heh, such a weak woman." She whispered to herself, "One day, you will sleep forever and every happiness you ever had will be long gone."
Every single day, Xiexie and Princess Yǐ sī tiē conquered every land that they've crossed. Men, women, children, they killed all of them without mercy. As the sky turned red, the vengeance that Xiexie and Princess Yǐ sī tiē had has gotten deeper and deeper. The fear the people had of them also got bigger, "Please stop! Help! Please, spare my child!"
The Queen did not even know what to do, while the King became bedridden.
Back at the palace, Xiexie told the guards to bring the Queen to him. The guards drag the Queen who is crying in misery in front of him. As soon as she saw Princess Yǐ sī tiē, she held onto her dress and cried, "Please, stop this madness Yǐ sī tiē!" She looked into the Queen's eyes and then mercilessly kicked her. The Queen cried in pain as she saw her daughter who has changed into a completely different person. "Aww, your loving and caring Yǐ sī tiē is gone now. So shut up you old hag!"
The Queen turned to Xiexie who was watching all this happening with amuse and screamed, "You…! You did this to my daughter! How could you betray us!?" Xiexie furiously grabbed the Queen's neck tightly and said, "Me? Do you even know what you did to my family? I'm just taking back what you all stole from me and I'm just giving back the same what you did to my family! Your bloodline turned me into this!" Then, he let go of the Queen and sneered, "I will let you see your beloved kingdom fall to ruin!"
The Queen shivered in fear and grabbed a knife hoping to end her life but, Yǐ sī tiē stopped her and to stop the Queen from seeing the things she'll be doing from this moment onwards she poked at the Queen's eyes. The Queen miserably cries in pain as the guards dragged her back to prison.
"I believe that was a wise decision of yours Princess..." As Xiexie was about to compliment the Princess, he saw the tears falling from the Princess's eyes, while holding her chest in pain as her heart aches. She looked at Xiexie and called his name, "Xie… xie…" as the Princess slowly walks towards Xiexie, he looked at her with sadness, he remembered the Princess whom he fell in love with, the Princess who he admired and grew up with. Princess tried to slowly walk toward him but suddenly passed out. Xiexie stopped her head from hitting the ground and held her tightly with care, looking at her with love but, the hate in Xiexie's heart was powerful than his love for the Princess.
"I'm sorry Yǐ sī tiē… For making you do such things." Then, Xiexie took the princess to her bedchamber for her to take a rest. He stayed beside her through the night. Longing for the princess's warm smile and graceful energy.
He wanted both Vengeance from Taiyang's family and Love from the Princess. So, he tried to control the power of the Dark Force living in the body of his beloved Princess, to successfully achieve his goals.
The Chains of Demons is not about having a contract with the Demons for the Master and the servant to be tied up but, it is a ritual for the chanter to control the power of the dark force which has the energy of the moon and to do this, he needed Taiyang's life force as he held the Positive energy of the sun.
Xiexie was born with a poor health. That was why he needed Taiyang's energy and he stole it from him using the ritual. He manipulated everyone. This was his plan and the reason why he recommended it to the King. He acted like an innocent man but, everything that happened was his plan all along.
As for why the Princess acts like this now, she got Xiexie's hatred during the ritual. Simply put, Hatred that part of Xiexie is now also part of the Princess. However, rituals like this are not as simple as it seems, everything comes with a price and the price that the Demons wanted to acquire, was the soul of the Princess, which lead to Xiexie being able to control her dark force. Once the Princess died, her soul will be devoured by the demons. This is what the demons wanted during the ritual and since Xiexie's vengeance is so deep, he agreed to it.
In the Prison, Prince Taiyang is lying motionless like an empty shell. Lilia visits the prince at any given opportunity and is always taking good care of him, "My Prince, please eat. You need to eat to regain your strength." She held his hands and looked at the prince's eyes. The same eyes that she always loved, that were always filled with vitality and kindness have lost their light are now left with nothing but emptiness. She shed tears and wailed, "If only you did not interfere and let me kill the Princess, this wouldn't have happened to you. It's the Princess's fault, this is all her fault!" She hugged the Prince and continued crying.
She thought of taking Prince Taiyang out of the Prison and escaping, taking him far away from Xiexie and the Princess.
She discussed an escape plan with her loyal subordinates and sent a letter to her Master asking for help with the use of her Falcon. Her master lives in Mount Penglai, where the immortals are practicing cultivation. While waiting for a response from her Immortal Master, she was having a hard time on figuring out how to escape. The route leading to outside the kingdom is heavily guarded, making it extremely difficult to pass through.
