Amen, Mr. Kyle is quite extraordinary; he's the pioneer, the very first 'volunteer' to receive the T virus at the Las Vegas base.
Andre, with a sardonic smirk, remarked, "Collect him and place him in a dedicated isolated containment area."
"Of course, sir."
These tasks were naturally the domain of specialized experimental assistants. Security personnel were ill-equipped to handle such matters. An accidental infection in this high-stakes game would be catastrophic.
In Las Vegas, it felt as though the Umbrella Corporation had set up their base far away from prying eyes. The entire base operated under the influence of Varion, who had managed to infuse the R-1 type human enhancement serum into nearly every individual. Even researchers, and perhaps even regular soldiers, would find it daunting to challenge such a formidable force.
Red Queen, reporting intermittently to Isaac, relayed the limited information she could gather about the base. Unfortunately, her sources were limited to what Varion chose to divulge.
"Varion, are you absolutely certain you won't consider the hibernation plan?" Isaac approached Varion at the eleventh hour, concerned that any mishap during the clean-up operation would be a significant setback.
"No need, Doctor. I'm perfectly safe here."
Convinced that Varion couldn't be swayed, Isaac reluctantly dropped the subject.
"The company's plan is in motion. Most of the upper management has entered the hibernation program, and the cloning project is underway as well. I will also enter hibernation. Wesker will oversee the company's affairs in the future, but he won't wield your authority here."
In essence, the Drawing Vegas base had been concealed.
Isaac couldn't contain his excitement every time he contemplated what they were about to achieve. He saw himself as a god-like figure, bringing forth a new era for humanity. Who else but him could accomplish such a feat?
Varion remained silent, knowing that hubris had led to the downfall of many a proud individual.
"When you awaken, Doctor, a new era will dawn under your guidance."
Isaac was brimming with enthusiasm. "Absolutely, Varion, this is the new era we are ushering in."
Varion regarded him with an icy, calculating gaze. Even if Isaac had access to the hibernation plan, he hadn't been informed of its location. While the original storyline placed it beneath the hive base, reality had a way of altering such plans.
....
March 15, 2002.
The 'cleaning plan' unfolded as scheduled. High-ranking Umbrella officials and government figures linked to the corporation had already entered the underground fortress to begin their hibernation, seeking refuge from the T virus.
Meanwhile, the 'clone project' was already underway. Countless clones had been infused with the memories of their originals, emerging from Umbrella's base to assume their respective roles. To the outside world, it appeared as though nothing had changed, and no one suspected that the people around them were subtly different.
In the suburbs of Raccoon City:
Alice, normally working in secrecy within Umbrella's base, found herself caught up in a plot. Persuaded by others, she had recently embarked on a mission to infiltrate the hive and steal the T virus, using her internal security clearance and password as evidence to bring down Umbrella. This move would expose Umbrella's illegal human experiments once and for all.
The agency that had contacted her had given Alice a solemn promise: as long as she could retrieve these items, everything else would be taken care of.
Yet, how could poor Alice have possibly known the true value of a T-virus on the black market?
Today was different for Spence. He was in a rush, driven by a clear and urgent purpose. Normally, his authority wouldn't have granted him access to this restricted area. But today was different; he utilized Alice's clearance to gain entry. The password granted him successful access, and they swiftly located the T-virus reagent, packing it securely in a bag.
Before leaving, they couldn't forget one crucial step—the crisis had to begin here.
Breaking the blue reagent was the trigger. The liquid inside rapidly vaporized, infiltrating the air circulation system through the ventilation and exhaust pipes, spreading like a sinister mist throughout the entire hive.
....
In the beehive's surveillance cameras, red dots began to appear, swiftly detecting the anomaly in the storage room. The entire facility blared with alarms, and the astute Red Queen immediately detected the issue, initiating the commands encoded deep within her core.
"What's happening?"
The man working in the lab asked anxiously. Such an abrupt alert within the facility was highly unusual. Not even during fire drills had he witnessed such an unannounced commotion.
"I don't know, maybe it's a fire alarm or something. It should... it should be fine in a while."
No one had a clear idea of what was transpiring.
"Damn."
The overhead sprinklers began drenching everything in the room, including the laboratory below.
"Quick, cover the computers and our experimental equipment," scolded a female researcher.
"Don't shout, I'm on it! What the hell is going on?"
The face of the African-American man grew increasingly grim. It was as if he had a terrible realization. He rushed to the door, attempting to input the access code. Unfortunately, the familiar sound of the door unlocking didn't echo as it usually did. There was no response at all, signifying that the door was now inaccessible.
"What's going on?" the female researcher yelled in panic.
"We can't open the door," he replied, exasperated.
"Is this really the time to worry about that? If something happens to our research equipment, all our months of hard work will be for nothing."
The black man kicked the door in frustration before turning to curse, "Oh, research equipment? If we can't get out of here, we'll all drown."
"What do you mean?"
"It means we're sealed in here. Do you want to drown in this flood?"
"What?!"
