Bab 52: 1.52 Glimmer

Evander wiped away his tears that cascaded down his cheeks, his face stained with the traces of his emotional turmoil. Despite his supposed inner turmoil, he managed to conjure a smile, albeit a bittersweet one.

"I'm glad you came out tonight so we could have one last dinner together, even if you hate me," Evander said, his voice laced with a mixture of sadness and gratitude.

Confusion etched across Calista's face as she asked, "What are you talking about?"

With a heavy sigh, Evander responded, his voice tinged with resignation, "I believe it would be best for everyone if I left. Tomorrow morning, I'll return and spend the rest of my life far away from you. I understand why you don't want me here, given the way I behaved."

Calista's eyes softened with empathy, and she reassured him, "Of course, we want you here. Everyone makes mistakes, and you're apologizing for yours."
