When they were out of earshot, Demetrius released his grip on Evander's wrist, leaving him stunned by his behavior. Demetrius spoke, "Enough with your acting. Did you hear me?"

Evander's face registered shock as he asked, "What?"

Calista intervened, holding Demetrius' wrist and addressing him affectionately, "Darling..."

But before she could finish her sentence, Demetrius interrupted her and directed his words at Evander, "Do you think we don't know what the drugs we bought you do? Do you know why they are so expensive? It's because they allow you to live the same life you had before. You won't experience any difficulty breathing, coughing fits, or any other side effects. Stop pretending that a simple denial triggers your illness. We're also aware that everything you've been telling us about Persie has been lies. How can we trust you if you keep lying and manipulating us?"
