Nuts and Bolts
"And then she started rubbing herself all over me, I had to literally push her away." Taking a sip of his drink, Athan chuckled, "She ended up falling on her butt."
Raising his brows, Ivan remarked, "So a woman throws herself at you and you push her away?"
"When other women do that, no. But if Kylie Parbo does it, then yes."
"That woman has been dying to get into your pants for months now, just give her some face," Ivan chuckled.
Straightening his back, Athan stated, "Only the women I want can get into my pants, not any random shit."
Leaning against the chair, Ivan remarked, "You are probably the only man I know who thinks Kylie Parbo is a random shit."
"Okay, so does that mean you don't think she is a random shit?"
"I don't think, I know she is a random shit," Ivan affirmed.
Grinning at him, Athan snapped his fingers. "This is why we are best friends."
Athan Campbell was Ivan's best friend since the last eight years. He had met him a few months after he started living in the human world.
"So a therapist, huh? Why do you want to see one?"
Shrugging his shoulders, Ivan answered, "I don't want to, Genny wants me to."
"Ahh your hot married assistant. I still have a hard time believing she has a five year old kid." Athan sighed. "Anyway, I don't think you should see one. Therapists these days just chuck money and do nothing."
"Apparently, the one Gen suggested is quite good."
"Good? It's probably a fifty-sixty year old nerd giving you stupid life lessons for money," Athan scoffed.
Shrugging his shoulders, Ivan remarked, "Maybe but there is no harm going for one session."
"Well, you can try. Maybe the therapist will help you deal with your crazy family," he chuckled. "You can just shove them away instead of seeing a therapist for that. But anyway—"
Ivan sighed and nodded his head. Though Athan was his best friend of eight years, he did not know anything about Ivan's family background because Ivan never told him.
No matter how close they were, Athan was still a human. It would be insane and also life threatening if he found out about Ivan's supernatural background and that there was a zero to slim chance of Ivan turning into a vampire in the future.
"Forget about mine, what about your family? How was your short trip to your hometown?" Ivan inquired.
Groaning in frustration, Athan grunted. "Don't get me started on what happened when I was there." Knocking the table, he further explained, "My brother literally tried to capture me. He threatened to cut me off if I don't stay back. What an ass—"
"Woah, at least my brother never threatens to cut me off," Ivan chuckled.
Just like him, even Athan's family was forcing him to return back to his home town. The only difference was, Athan's family had humanly reasons for calling him back but his family had different plans.
Though their situations were completely different, Ivan still felt strongly connected to Athan because both of them were going through the same thing. Constant nagging their respective families to return back.
"Dude, I am telling you this again. If I ever find a lamp and a Genie pops in from there, I am going to ask him to teach our brothers a good lesson," Athan exclaimed.
"I guess we can just wait for your magic lamp to rescue us," Ivan chuckled.
