Bab 18: What Do You Really Want?
Katherine stared from her window and watched as her children escaped from the house without her permission. On normal days she would let it slide, but not in their current situation. Eddie was a wanted man, and there was no way she was going to let the future coven leader run around at night when danger thrived.
She instantly raced down from her bed and chased after the duo, but before she could reach, or call out to them they've vanished. "Teleportation!" She cursed. She wasn't going to just sit around and do nothing simply because they've managed to elude her this once. What on earth were they thinking wandering off into the night without telling her? Katherine was curious. She was going to find them, and when she does they had some serious explaining to do.

The duo arrived at the same spot where they met with Stewie earlier. He was yet to arrive, and they were forced to wait for him again.
"It's been half an hour, maybe we should go back" Eddie suggested, but Jade proposed otherwise.
"We've already agreed to help, it wouldn't be ideal to leave after agreeing to assist him. Besides, we both knew this would happen, Stewie Grant is never early" Jade reminded. Honestly she couldn't care less about Stewie and his family problems. The only reason she was still sticking around was because of the daylight ring. Aside from that, she had no particular interest in helping the vampire.
Stewie appeared almost immediately after Jade was done talking. He wasn't alone this time, but the siblings showed no signs of fear, Stewie had already informed them he'll be coming with back up earlier.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, we ran into a group of troublesome nightwalkers" The overgrown vampire apologized. He was actually being honest, they'd been attacked by some rogue vampires who wanted to claim their rings for themselves. They were weak nightwalkers, and Stewie had easily handled them.
"Where exactly are we going to?" Asked a curious Eddie. He didn't like the fact that they were outnumbered by vampires who weren't nightwalkers. This could all be an ambush stipulated by Stewie to enact revenge on him and Jade for embarrassing him a day ago. If for any reason Stewie decides and his gang decides to turn on them now, then they were done for. Not only did they have the number advantage, but were also favored by the night.
"The Cellar family house" Stewie revealed. "You don't have to worry, I won't turn on you guys unless you really deserve it" Stewie assured.
Eddie wanted to to ask if all the people he bullied in school deserved it, but he decided to keep his mouth shut. He was in position to start nor win an argument with a vampire who had over fifty soldiers with him.
"We should get going, we don't have all night" Jade informed and Stewie immediately took the lead. They were vampires, so they had no issues with speed, however Jade and Eddie had to be carried by two of Stewie's henchmen. Eddie could definitely run as fast as they did, but he didn't protest when he was lifted from the ground, and onto another man's back. He couldn't risk exposing himself when Jade had done so much to keep a secret from Stewie.
Jade wasn't especially comfortable with being given a back ride by a vampire. All through the ride she had to restrict herself from grabbing the beings head and snapping it backwards. She wasn't comfortable with their cold touch, neither was she having it with this grim scent that oozed from them. She just wanted to get this over with as soon as possible.
The group came to a halt in front of a large edifice. When Stewie had said house, the siblings had imagined a small mansion, but before them stood nothing short of a Fortress.
"Are you sure you want to go in there with this number? Doesn't it seem like they'll be more of them behind those gates?" Jade questioned on behalf of her awestruck brother.
"That's why I needed help, these are the only competent fighters I have. The rest are still newly turned nightwalkers" Stewie explained.
Jade was going to neglect the fact that Stewie had actually revealed he was turning humans, only because she knew she wouldn't win against these people if she was to start a fight. She'll definitely meet him afterwards for disciplining.
"I don't think we're enough for you to win" Eddie stated. He wasn't going to just stand there and lie to himself when the truth was in front of him. The moment they cross these gates was the moment they'll all perish. Was Stewie actually sick when he summoned only fifty vampires to fight against a legion? There was just no way they'll win. The bully will just have to find a way to get new rings, because Eddie wasn't prepared to throw his life away for vampires.
Jade hated to admit it, but one sunlight ring wasn't worth dying for. They didn't stand a chance against the possible forces behind these walls. Mere looking at the fortress would have you thinking twice about raiding them. What exactly made Stewie think that fifty men with two witches would be enough to bring down this Fortress, let alone it's leader.
"They're not that strong" Stewie lied. He was honestly out of reasons, and this was the only reply his brain to find.
Jade was beginning to think Stewie had ulterior motives about entering this fortress. There was no way he couldn't tell that fifty vampires weren't enough, something suspicious was definitely going on.
"What do you really want Stewie?" Jade asked. She was now convinced that ten sunlight rings wouldn't be enough to force Stewie into sacrificing the lives of his own people. If he wanted the rings so badly, then he could have requested for more from whoever supplies them.
Stewie was definitely shocked by the question he'd just received, and he hadn't done well in concealing his shock. "I... I want to rescue my brother"
