When Lily reached the mansion, the sky had already turned gray. The whole day had looked very dull after Shadow's funeral as there was no sunshine throughout. It was now nighttime. She entered her room, took a shower, and then sat in front of her vanity mirror.

Her green eyes looked at her reflection as if she were deep in thought. Her mind wasn't focused on anything in particular, but she knew she had something she wanted to remember. Something was wrong somewhere. She walked to her bag and picked up the last diary her mother had left behind.

She went through everything that was written until she reached the last pages that were ripped off. Lily wanted to have that connection with her mother, even if it was just her ashes or her headstone, but Augustine had refused to show her any of that. Even when he was cornered, he found a way to avoid it.
