"She would find the guy who will be destined to her uniquely. She was destined with a guy who will get her first dance," the Fortune-teller said while caressing the little hands of Cassidy.
A little laugh suddenly echoed inside the room where they are gathered. They looked at the little boy beside a woman who was covering his mouth to hold on to his laughter.
"Liam. Keep quiet. You're disturbing Madam Lesly's session," his mother scolded him as she told the Fortune-teller not to mind them.
"It sounds ridiculous for me, Mom. Why would she tell that to her? Cassidy was just nine years old," his mouth twitched as he complains to his mother. The woman just covers his mouth to stop him from speaking.
On the other hand, Cassidy looks nervous as what she heard from Madam Lesly. She holds into her mother's arm and looks at her with such worriedness. Her mother hugged her and caressed her hair while saying something that could ease her feelings.
"It's fine, my dear. That is not something you have to worry about."
"But Momma...what if the one who will get my first dance is not the guy that I like?" she said in her little voice.
The Fortune-teller, including her Momma and Liam's Mom, laughed at her statement. Both she and Liam look at the three women with curiosity. She couldn't understand which part of what she had said was funny. Old people's sense of humor was really hard to understand for nine years old like her. But even at her young age, she liked to know more about love. She always sees her parents being in love with each other every day and she would like to experience being loved by someone.
Her Momma was very fond of the prophecy of Madam Lesly. In fact, because of her prophecy, her Momma and Daddy had met each other. That is what she heard from the stories of her Momma. She wants to try if it is true so she didn't hesitate when she told her that they will be going to Madam Lesly's house to receive a prophecy.
"Your daughter wants to have a sweet romance when she grows up just like her mother," Madam Lesly said while giggling. She shuffled the tarot cards to continue her session.
After the session, they bid their goodbye to the Fortune-teller and went straight to their home. While on their way, Cassidy can't stop thinking about the prophecy that she received from Madam Lesly. It feels like destiny wants to ruin her dream love story. She wanted it to be something like her parent's love story. It seems to be ridiculous that she would uniquely meet her soulmate, like what it said in the prophecy.
"Hey!" A hand poking her at the back sent her out from her reverie. She looked back just to see Liam smirking at her in the backseat. "Are you sulking? Don't worry. No one will dare to have your dance. It was scary to be ended up with someone like you," Liam teased her.
"Stop teasing Cassidy, Liam. I will tell your Dad to get the PSP from you," his mother warned him. He immediately closed his mouth, fearing that his Mom will do what she had said.
She turned around and kneeled on her seat while resting her arm on the backrest. Her eyes land on Liam that was beside his mother. The side of her lips rise as she was staring at him.
"Why you didn't ask a prophecy from Madam Lesly? Are you scared?" she asked playfully. She was swaying her feet as she waits for his answer.
"I don't believe in prophecy," he replied shortly.
The car stopped in front of their house. She hurriedly open the door and went out of the car. She runs faster through their house when she saw her Daddy waiting for them at the door. Her daddy open his arms widely to hug her and lift her to the ground. She giggled because he started to tickle her on her waist.
"I can't breathe, Daddy. Stop!" she pleaded. She holds his face and looked straight into his eyes. "I received a prophecy from Madam Lesly!" she happily said while smashing her Daddy's cheeks.
"Really? What it is?"
She smiled and put her fingers on her cute lips. "It's a secret, Daddy."
Her Momma approached them and kissed her Daddy's cheek. Liam and his mother had already gone inside their house. It was just next to their house. They were been a neighbor even she has not been born yet. There were just a few kids who were living in their subdivision so she doesn't have a choice but to be friends with Liam.
As soon as they went inside their house, she immediately run to her room to write in her diary. She was doing it since she was seven years old. She likes to write down what happened to her every day. She wants to write in her diary the prophecy that she got from the Fortune-teller. She had to remember it because it has something to do with her love life if she reaches puberty. She had to plan everything so that she won't end up being destined to someone she doesn't like.
"To make it successful I should not let anyone or any boys have a dance with me. Right, Wooly?" She looked at her stuff toy koala who was silently sitting on her bed and smiling at her.
She closed her diary and hide it in her drawer because climbing up on her bed. She was busy playing with Wooly when she heard something hitting on her room's window. She slowly walked towards it and open it to see who was throwing on her window. She looked down and see Liam in their backyards, holding a handful of pebbles in his hand. He throws again a pebble at her, fortunately, she was able to avoid hitting it.
"Oppss. Sorry!" he shouted. "Come down here. Let's have a dance," he said, teasing her about the prophecy.
Cassidy gives him a deadly glare then picks up the pebble that went inside her room and throws it towards Liam. "Could you please leave me alone? I will tell Auntie Thea to punish you!" she shouts back and closes the window. She could still hear his laugh outside but she didn't mind him.
She would never let any of them have her first dance. By this day, she promised to be careful not to forget about the prophecy or else she will be ended up with someone her heart would never agree to beat for.
