Bab 182: doing bad things

"I got Zondani to stop the seven deadly sins."

She tenses up, "What? How?"

He calmly nods, "And the gates to the underworld are now closed."

Aubrey frowns, leaning back in her chair whilst running a hand through her hair, "How did you close the gates?"

A smile forms on his lips and he chuckles a few seconds after, "Doesn't matter. Just know that you're safe now and there would be no more creatures coming after you anymore."

She leans forward again, "And how are you sure about all of this?"

He pouts, leaning off the desk to pace round the room "Don't you trust me?"

Her eyes drop dead at his question— she feels it isn't the time for him to ask such a question given the fact that he left her the day the Chimera attacked after she fully trusted that he would protect her all the way.
