Two days later.
Inside the kitchen, Haruma carefully poured soup into a bowl, placed it on a tray, and carried it out.
knocking softly on the door, Haruma stepped inside a room to find his mother sitting on bed, smiling at him.
Haruma walked over and sat on the edge of the bed and handed her the tray.
"Make sure to finish it up," Haruma said gently.
His mother glanced at the soup with a smile, before looking up at him, "Have you eaten?" she asked kindly.
Haruma nodded with a faint smile, "I'll be going now, they're probably waiting for me."
His mother's expressions dimmed as she looked down. "I want to see your game" she murmured, her tone low and soft.
Haruma slowly shook his head in denial, "No, absolutely not! There'll be too much noise, which you should avoid" he said, his tone calm yet firm.
She gave a small nod, then looked up at him with a warm smile, placing a reassuring hand on his cheek, "Good luck Haruma, and I'm sure you will get your chance."
Haruma smiled faintly before giving a small nod, both exchanging warm smiles...
Now walking down the road, wearing casual clothes with his sports bag slung over his shoulder, Haruma reached his school and saw two large buses parked outside, surrounded by students buzzing with energy. The coach and the team were standing near one of the buses, ready to depart.
Masaru was standing there with a group of Toru's friends, Rukia among them. When Masaru's gaze caught Haruma, his face lit up with a bright smile, raising his hand he called out loud "Harumaaa!" drawing the attention of everyone nearby.
Haruma walked over and stood before the group.
"Hey, you're late buddy!" Masaru teased with a playful tone.
Haruma shrugged lightly, "Yeah, I was busy with something," he replied.
"No, you're not late at all" Toru chimed in with a smile, "We just came early for the final practice session"
Haruma gave him a simple nod of acknowledgment
looking at Haruma, Rukia asked softly, "How's your mother?"
Haruma met her gaze briefly.
"Yeah, how is she?" Masaru asked with clear concern.
"She's on medication" Haruma replied, "but her migraine still isn't gone completely"
The group was giving him a worried look, nodding in quiet acknowledgment.
"Then you made the right choice to not to bring her here," One of Toru's male friends remarked.
"If you need our help, then just let us know," Rukia said with her voice filled with concern. In response, Haruma gave her a slow nod.
Just then, The coach's voice echoed "Come on everyone, on the buses now! we are getting late!"
The group then exchanged confident smiles, each one ready and determined for their first game in the Round of Sixteen....
The buses then pulled up outside a small football stadium, and from the bus the coach stepped out first followed by the captain Toru and the vice captain Shino and then the rest of the team.
On the other bus the families of the players and other staff of the school began to step out.
At last, Haruma and Masaru stepped off the bus, and as they took in the sight of the football stadium, Masaru's jaw dropped and his eyes lit up with excitement.
"Damn!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with awe, "Just look at it!"
looking at the stadium, Haruma was smiling too, "It really is amazing" he said, his smile faint but genuine.
Masaru took a deep breath trying to calm himself, "Okay, It's not the time to get nervous, I have to stay calm!" his tone trembling with anxiety.
Haruma was smiling at him, before placing a hand on his shoulder, drawing Masaru's gaze.
"Best of luck," Haruma said warmly, "You've got this!"
Masaru looked at him with wide eyes before his face lit up with a bright smile, giving him a nod....
Inside the dressing room, all the players were suited up in their new jerseys, stretching and preparing for the game.
Haruma was standing in the corner, wearing a training jersey with a training bib over it.
The rest of the team were gathered around Toru, who was energetically guiding them about their strategy. Haruma, however, was standing apart, his face lowered and shadowed with darkness.
Just then, the coach entered the dressing room, instantly catching everyone's attention. The players quickly began to line up.
Standing before the team, the coach surveyed each player with steady confident eyes. The players met his gaze with determination clear on their faces.
"Today is the day we've all been working hard for!" The coach began, his voice both firm and full of energy.
"After months of playing qualification matches, we all have reached here," The coach continued, "And behind every win, we've made lots of sacrifices. Many players have been injured, many have shed their blood on this field! We've all given our everything to stand where we are now!"
The players were listening intently, their faces etched with unwavering focus and determination.
"This game will decide our future in this tournament," The coach continued, "If we lose here, all our years of hard work and years of training, everything will end today! But if we win we move on to the quarterfinals!"
The coach's face tightened with anger as he shouted, "Now It's your action that will decide this! Whether we end here, or we win this whole thing!" His voice echoed with such power that it sent a wave of energy through the room, sending chills to each player's listening.
Toru's expressions shifted into one of fierce determination as he yelled, "Nothing's gonna end here coach! we will win!"
His voice rang out, sparking confidence and fire in the heart of each and every player who all responded with enthusiastic unified "Yeah!"
Seeing such determination and confidence, the coach broke into a wide smile, surveying his team with a proud smile.
"Now, get to the field and show me what you all are capable of!" The coach yelled enthusiastically.
With a surge of determination and confidence, Toru began to lead the way to the field with his team following close behind.
Standing behind everyone, Haruma clenched his fist tight, and with his face shadowed with intensity, he began moving forward, following his teammates.
The Hanaka Boys marched to the field each step filled with unrelenting determination and fierce confidence.
