Bab 75: Intervention

** David's POV **

"What did she say? Can I fix this?" I was freaking out. I didn't want to let Abigail slip through my fingers. I know I was hung up on my past and still needed to deal with the aftermath, but the way I felt this morning when Erick told me how bad I screwed up, I couldn't handle it.

My stomach has literally been in knots all morning. I was trying to go over any bit of last night that I remembered. Even if it wasn't much, Erick helped fill in some of my gaps, but to be honest, I wish he hadn't because it only made me hate myself more.

I know I didn't even trust Abigail initially, but I found out just how innocent she was in all of this. Her mother was kidnapped and then murdered while she was pregnant with her. Having to spend any time in Aslow's care. The Goddess was doing her best but being thwarted by her greedy family.  She grew up in such an unloving environment with a family that used her.
